What Planet is This? [Open]

OOC: Takes place after Cerberus's Warrior Ceremony. Cerberus is now Nightwind.

This wasn't something Dawnhawk ever in his wildest dreams had imagined for himself. He rose early, as he always had, and stepped over the sleeping cats around him. He hadn't slept great necessarily, as the wind had buffeted his fur for most of the night and the scent of the moor put him on edge. He wasn't used to being able to see for miles out at a time or the wind that tugged at his coat. It was aggravating... actually. He was supposed to shadow other warriors to learn how to be a windclan cat, but he was already awake when it seemed like none of the others were. He supposed he'd just spend his time getting a head start and bring things back to their fresh-kill pile. He'd made sure to make it obvious that he was observing the clan life around him (though a majority of that wasn't an act) so it wouldn't look suspicious bringing back prey and dropping it off. He knew enough about rogue life to know that they generally ate their kills where they killed them. He'd spent nearly a moon on his own amongst those... (he hated this word but it was true) savages. The Skyclan scent had long been gone from his fur, and with Hollyhock's assistance as well as his own knowledge from his time in the Asylum, Dawnhawk hardly had a smell at all.

He noticed a fuzzy brown creature in the distance and stopped. Upon longer observation, he realized that it was a rabbit... definitely a rabbit and not a hare. He'd caught a few rabbits in his time and only one hare ever... He took a breath and out of habit looked to where the sun was... right before he remembered that he was a black cat now... not white and gold. I abhor this color... He thought to himself as he crouched down and used the moor grass to the best of his ability to get close to the rabbit. He'd seen enough darker furred cats hunt this way, so he knew it was effective. Like all things about this new world, it would take some getting used to was all.

He did manage to creep up to it within a reasonable striking distance... before he bolted after it. It felt... off to not be prepared to use a tree to his advantage. It was foreign that there were basically none to speak of. But he would never learn how to bled into Windclan society without just trying it. Trial and error was the best way, and thankfully the Windclan cats were just oh so willing to be accepting and understand that he wasn't one of them... yet.

What surprised Dawnhawk the most wasn't necessarily that he actually caught the fuzzy creature with relative ease... it was the fact that the wind had blown just behind him hard enough to actually lift and boost his steps. What in the Stars??? As he kept his mouth closed around the rabbit and waited for it to die, he pondered if that was actually Windclan's claim to fame was speed via a wind boost. Or had that just been excellent timing??? I don't know how long I can do this... this place is weird.

Nightwind used 3SP to hunt a rabbit. It was successful!

Tawnyflare raced across the moors, hot on the trail of a rabbit. She noticed Nightwind had caught his rather easily, and found herself to be a bit jealous. That cat was newer to the Clan than she was, how was he getting this down so quickly? With narrowed eyes, she tried to quicken her pace. She was not about to be out done by this old tom.

She felt relief flood through her as she caught up to the rodent, and felt it's back break beneath her jaws as it hung limply from her mouth. She could not help but send a confident glance at the newer WindClan member. You might be skilled, but I was born a WindClan cat. And I do not go down easy.

After burying her prey, although she neglected to send thanks to StarClan (after all, she still thought that notion was ridiculous), she sauntered off, her head and tail held high, and a smirk on her maw. Nightwind would be lucky to keep up with her.

Nightwind turned his head just in time to see a she-cat gallop across the moor. A she-cat that he recognized. Good thing his tail was hidden in the moor grass, because it bristled a bit. Not out of anger, but with a slight start that he didn't even consider that he'd run into former Asylum cats that had gone full traitor. He needed to be very careful with this one. His eyes inadvertently glanced down at his right shoulder as if his marred Captain Scars would suddenly be open, bleeding and visible through his fur. Of course they weren't.  His eyes then went back to her short-haired form and spotted the slash that marked her as a former standard. Joy. Still... the look she gave him was a clear challenge. A challenge that Nightwind didn't intend to ignore.

He certainly would have been offended if he'd heard her thoughts out loud as well. He was maybe a year older than she was and as far as he could tell, just as much Windclan as her. Windclan was mostly rogues anyway.

I'm down for a game! He thought as he buried his own rabbit and immediately sought out a harder target. He spotted a hare and there was a pinch of dread in his stomach. He'd only ever caught one before... He took in a breath and stalked after it, determined to catch it.

Once he thought the angle of the wind was right, he bolted after it. Having hunted a hare once before, he anticipated  the leap upward that they tended to do when they panicked. It jumped. So did he. The wind must have propelled him forward again, because he caught the hare mid-air. They spun like a fuzzy tornado before hitting the ground. Nightwind buried his teeth into the neck of the hare and held it until it stopped kicking.

Success.

He looked after where the she-cat had just gone and gave her a playful but still challenging glance... if she ever turned her head back to look at him.

Nightwind used 3SP to hunt a hare. It was successful!
