Better safe than sorry [closed]

With the sun high in the sky and the breeze ruffling her short fur, Elsa padded across the moors, without a worry in mind. It felt warmer on this day than the ones prior, which had the loner in a good mood- as if she ever had bad moods. Hoping luck would be on her side, she decided to take her chances with the clans again. A strange scent had been surrounding the territories, and she had to admit, it had her quite worried. It wouldn't hurt to check on them, right? She had friends in the clans, after all. As she neared the Windclan borders, she smelled the odd scent much stronger, mixed in with the Windclan scent. The scent was almost intimidating, it made her reluctant to step over the boundary line. "Hello?" Her soft voice called out, hoping to get any kind of answer. Perhaps she shouldn't be as worried as she had been, but she would rather be able to help them in some way rather than find out something bad had happened.

It appeared as though Lilacstar this might be the last time Lilacstar would ever go on a walk. While she knew she would have an escort on such, she wished she had not been given one quite so annoying. He talked, a lot, and while Lilacstar loved making conversation, she did not want to hear, over and over, how great and wonderful the Asylum was, or how they would save us all. And it took all her will not to scream this in the cat's face.

She was saved thanks to another voice, a rather gentle one, and she quickly silenced her guard. It was not long until she saw the white She-Cat, a loner, and not Asylum, thank StarClan, and she approached with a smile at the oddly welcome distraction. "Hello there! Might I say, you are the first cat in a while to have respected our borders, so thank you for that. Is there something I can help you with?"

Elsa felt a wave of relief wash over her when she saw a brown and white tabby in the distance, who was accompanied by another cat. As the pair grew closer, she was pleased to find out that neither seemed to be hostile. 'That must mean that i was worried for nothing!' she thought, partly scolding herself. Walking forward to meet the she-cat, she quickly bowed her head before stepping back again. She found it quite odd that she could thank her for respecting the borders. Did that mean that some other cats had been trespassing?

Ripping herself from her thoughts, she answered the question that the tabby had asked her. "Oh, nothing in particular. I'm just friends with some of the clan cats, and i've been quite worried about them lately. A strange smell has been coming from the territories... I just wanted to check and see if everything was alright." She paused, sniffing the air. The cat accompanied by the tabby had the same scent that had been by the borders. "The cat you're with smells like it." She added, fixing the tom with a confused stare. She didn't know what to think, whether the clans had taken in some loners or if they had combined with another group. What confused her was that the clans didn't seem like the cats who would do something like that. Perhaps she should leave it up to the other cat to answer. Wait... they didn't even know each other's names! She quickly introduced herself, a small smile spreading across her face. "Oh, you don't even know my name, how rude of me! My name is Elsa."

Elsa claimed to have friends from the Clans? As in, all the Clans? This might be a long shot, but perhaps Elsa could help her. After all, she had no scent of the Asylum, so she was sure she was not aligned with them. She would have to take Elsa for her word.

Lowering her voice, she spoke in a bit of a hiss, hoping to appear like she was threatening Elsa in the Asylum Cat's eyes. "My name is Lilacstar, and I am the leader of WindClan. These cats you have been smelling are called the Asylum, and they have taken over the Clans. We have been cut off from the other Clans. You mentioned your friends, do you think you could talk with them? Find out what is happening in the other Clans? I know this is a lot to ask of you, especially as we have just met, but I am begging you. My Clan, all of the Clans, need your help."

Outwardly she raised her head, fixing Elsa with a glare, but her eyes were pleading. "WindClan is not weak. Let that be known now."

Surprise shone in Elsa's expression when the cat suddenly changed he tone, becoming almost threatening. Something told her that she didn't really mean to intimidate her, so she remained where she stood. She soon learned that the she-cat's name was Lilacstar. If she remembered correctly, that meant that she was a leader? It wasn't often that she met a cat from the clans who wasn't just a warrior or apprentice, she felt honored to be able to talk to a leader. Being pulled back into the conversation, she listened to what else Lilacstar had to say.

Her eyes widened as she explained what was going on. So that was what why the borders smelled so odd? Why would any cat do this to the clans!? Her gaze shifted from Lilacstar to the cat who accompanied her, an Asylum cat. Her eyes narrowed but she said nothing, returning her attention back to the leader. Beginning to talk, she lowered her voice to match Lilacstar's. "I.. I worried something bad may have happened, but this never came to my mind. Of course i'll help you, i visit the clans quite often anyways, it would be no problem for me to help you guys out, as long as i come across the right cats." The she-cat thought of how many negative encounters she's had with clan cats, although she had to admit the majority of cats she met were relatively nice to her. Once Lilacstar added the last sentence, she responded. "Of course, i never doubted it. If there is anything else i can do, please let me know. Even if it's just to have a friendly conversation!"
