Tavora's kits had been doing their light training for long enough that they were ready to be sorted into their factions. Though it may not have felt that way to the young queen, Eris knew it to be a fact, and she was fully prepared to disperse them throughout the factions when the time had come. While for most Asylum members, today felt like any ordinary day, the course of a few young kits' lives would be forever set in stone with the decision that Eris made. It was something she'd done many, many times, but it never became less important to her.

Shaking out her thick fur, she padded toward Faizah with a gentle smile plastered onto her maw, her pointy teeth poking out of her lips, as always. "Faizah, daughter of Tavora. It is time for you to be sorted into your proper faction." She mewed, watching for the general excitement that most younglings exhibited on such an important day.

Faizah did not know what was happening. Despite being a member, she had never been to the Asylum camp. After all, she was but a mere kit, separated only from the Clan kits by capability. There was so much more she could do, but even still she needed protection. So now she was being escorted on either side by a scout, with a nightstriker trailing should there be trouble. This was the first time Faizah had been separated from her family, but when she was told to come with the Asylum cats, Tavora encouraged her. She wasn't getting rid of Faizah was she? She surely hoped not.

It was not until Eris, the head of the Asylum, approached her that realization dawned on her. Was she really getting sorted? Before any of her siblings too! Oh wait until she rubbed this in their faces! Although inwardly her mind buzzed with excitement, Faizah remained stock still, unsure how to react, although the smile on her face probably said all that needed to be known.

With a very slight smile, Eris looked down on the young she-cat. "Faizah, step forward now to receive your rank one faction scar." Eris readied her claws, unsheathing them slightly as she waited for the she-cat to step forward. "I take you to be bonded to the Standard faction." She mewed, giving a moment for her new faction to sink in. Then, she lifted a single claw, and quickly slashed it down her right shoulder. "Wear this mark of your faction with pride. I, along with the Standard faction, welcomes you." She watched as droplets of crimson began to blossom from Faizah's new scar. With a quick affirmative nod, Eris flicked her tail, motioning toward the Standard quarters, where she'd be spending several moons while she went through more specialized training than she'd been doing the past moons.

Faizah had walked toward Eris, tense and truthfully, nervous. What if she didn't like the faction she was put into? What faction would even accept her? She had breathing problems, she was clumsy, she was quite the pawful to train, even she would admit that. Was there any place for her among the Asylum? Her answer came as Eris continued the sorting.

A standard! She was a standard! Truthfully she doubted many cats were excited to be in the standard faction, rather than a nightstriker or a scout, but for Faizah? This was the best thing in the world. When you were set on your only use being a pelt ward, of course this would be extraordinary in her eyes. A huge smile had grown on her face as Eris placed the scar on her shoulder. Proof that the Asylum Head herself had found use in her. Tavora would be so proud, and her siblings so jealous!

"Thank you." She dipped her head, respectfully, before she made her way to her new quarters, where she would remain for her training.
