Oh Hey, Haven't Noticed You Around Very Much (CLOSED)

Shrikesong padded around ThunderClan camp, looking to just talk with someone in camp. She had conversed with numerous Asylum cats, but it felt like a chore. She made sure to not let it seep into her face, keeping the facade of an excited young she-cat. She even made sure to add a spring to her step to complete the act. Really, she needed to talk with one of her clanmates to make her feel better. Noticing one of ThunderClan's elders near the place, she grinned. "Hey there!" she said enthusiastically. She knew how to sound enthusiastic after practicing in the reflection in the river thousands of times. "How's your day going?"

Silverrain had beenlying in the leafbare sun, content to just relax. Although it was still rather chilly, it was starting to warm up, and even she could tell newleaf was arriving, and there would be no complaint coming from her. Although she had been quite comfortable, in her own world and not paying attention to reality, so she jumped when a voice cut through the silence, and a resulting pain shot up her leg from the movement. Clenching her teeth until it died down, she looked to see who had spoken to her.

"Cedarheart! You startled me! My day is going well, although I cannot wait until newleaf to come full swing. How are you?" Of course, she soon realized this she-cat looked slightly different from Cedarheart. She knew her memory was poor, but was it possible she had forgotten what the warrior looked like? She supposed it was possible, so she did not question it. After all, she did not know Cedarheart, she simply knew of her.

Upon hearing Silverrain's first words to her, the brown she-cat's excited mask faded into confusion. Being called by her mothers name... how was she going to respond to that? "Uh... Shrikesong," she ended up saying. "Cedarheart's daughter." The conversation already turned awkward, but she still tried to continue talking to Silverrain. "I'm doing alright myself. Just making more friends and all." Really, her interactions with the Asylum cats were what caused her to seek out one of her clanmates to talk to. And despite not knowing Silverrain that well, she thought that it would be good to talk to her. Clearly, she was wrong in that aspect.

Or was she? In truth, the overwhelming awkwardness that came from conversing with Silverrain drowned out the absolute hatred that she had for the Asylum, at least for the time being. Somehow, Silverrain kept her sane. That's something that you haven't heard before.

That's definitely something I haven't heard from my rest of my clanmates.

The two sides of her mind agreeing with each other... she hadn't had this for the longest time. Ever since... You should continue the conversation with Silverrain, Shrikesong. You can't get riled up by this. Sighing, she eventually spoke. "How do you suppose that this leaf-bare compared to leaf-bares prior?" Perhaps Silverrain wouldn't be able to answer that, but she thought that it couldn't hurt to try.
