Ginger and Slate while a Quail circles overhead (closed)

Two apprentices at once. Sounds fun. And yes that was sarcasm.

Quaildock had expected he'd be getting an apprentice soon, just not that he'd had to train two. It was fine though. He could handle it! Right?

Sighing, Quaildock padded into the apprentices den, and nudged Slatepaw, before padding towards Gingerpaw, and nudged him. He whispered a quick "Wake up" to them, before padding out and sitting in front of the den. He glanced up at a random Asylum cat, and pointed his tail towards the entrance. They nodded, and Quaildock quickly glanced back towards the apprentices den.

Gingerpaw woke from her next looking back at her brother Emberpaw before padding out to meet Quaildock. “Are we doing battle training or hunting practice Quaildock?” The calico she cat meowed as she looked up at the older cat.

Slatepaw woke and followed behind Gingerpaw. She yawned, groggy from sleep and shook out her pelt trying to get the sleep out of her. “Yeah what are we going to be training today?” She meowed.

Quaildock smiled as he saw his two apprentices. "We'll pratice hunting and maybe do a bit of battle training!" He meowed, walking over towards the entrance. The Asylum cat followed after them as he padded out of camp. "Now come on! Stick closely and follow me!"

Gingerpaw excited jumped up and followed their mentor sticking close and staying as far away from the Asylum cat as she could.

Slatepaw followed behind, ignoring the annoying Asylum cat. What were they even here for anyways? She narrowed her eyes but kept walking.

After quite a bit of walking Quaildock slowed down, sitting down and began sniffing the air. He turned his green-yellow gaze towards the two apprentices. "Ok, tell me what you smell." He instructed, swishing his grey tabby tail back and forth.

Gingerpaw stopped and sat down in front of Quaildock. Upon his request the orange true colored calico sniffed the air smelling the damp earth from the melted snow and some prey scents. “I smell some prey like squirrels and mice and birds.” She meowed.

Slatepaw stopped when Gingerpaw did and sat next to her best friend. When Quaildock told them to sniff the air she took a deep sniff and was hit with the scent of damp earth and prey and a faint scent of fox. “I smell the same as Gingerpaw but I also smell the faint scent of a fox.” The gray calico meowed.

Quaildock nodded. "Good. Now how faint is the fox?" He asked. The two apprentices were doing really well, and seemed to be less of a pawful then Quaildock had thought. Maybe it wouldn't be so hard to train them. The grey tabby tom thought.
