Reflecting and Hunting (Closed)

Shira took a walk late at night.  She wanted to leave Skyclan and did not want to be in the Asylum camp that night.  She walked near the border of Skyclan, but kept on the side of the clan she was stationed in.  She wanted to feel the soft breeze in her fur and see the glow of the moon lighting up the ground were there would not shadows.  The grass felt nice as it swept over her paws.  She had not done this before, afraid that she would get questioned, but she decided to do it tonight because she felt that she just needed to get out and think, no matter what others thought.  She sat down by the river and took a drink of water.  The liquid on her tongue felt refreshing as it slipped down her throat.  She put her head back up again and started to look up at the stars that were desperately attempting to shine as bright as the moon, but never seeming to be enough.

Shira always felt like she did not fit in.  Her personality was not right to be a Scout and Skyclan seemed to not be what she wanted either.  She sighed.  She did love the Asylum, but it seemed that because she was a Scout there was this expected friendliness that she could not be.  The Asylum was free and you could do many things, but it felt so strange to her.  Her sister's were great and she was happy to be stationed with at least one of them.  She just wished she could have the duty's of a Scout, but have the personality she had.  Shira hated being treated like an enemy, even if she was not very friendly.  She tried to always be good at what she did, but she always told herself she was not good enough.  Just like the stars, she thought.

A sound broke into her mind threw all of her thoughts.  A white rabbit hopped out of a near by bush, not knowing she was there.  Well, since I'm already out here, why not catch a thing or two.  She kept low and made sure to keep her tail above the ground.  She tried to stand in a way were her white stomach and paws were not shown as much, and she mostly succeeded.  The rabbit hopped along, not realizing what was about to happen.  She came closer and closer and was about to jump, before the small white creature heard some of the dead leaves crack under Shira's paws and quickly hopped away before she had the chance to catch it.

'Hunting Dice' : 7

Shira stamped one of her front paws in anger.  Maybe she was going about this the wrong way.  It could possibly be easier to catch something else, like a bird, after all she was in Skyclan.  She looked up at the tall trees.  Some burnt from the fire, but others seemed to be pretty strong.  She searched them for any sign in movement and found a small brown bird sitting on one of the lower branches of the tree.  She had not tried climbing to may trees before, but the cats in Skyclan did it all the time so it must not be that hard.  She slowly walked towards the tree, again trying not to make any noise.  As she got closer, she realized that the bird was in it's nest, probably trying to sleep.  This was the perfect time to try this.  She got close and jumped to attempt to climb the tree.

She succeeded in jumping and holding herself on it, but she did not do too well when she started to climb it. Thankfully, she was able to get up to the branch that the bird was on and bit into it just as it was flying off. She pulled it down and saw bits of blood dripping on the branch, letting her know that she had succeeded in killing it. She jumped down off of the tree and landed with a large thump, because she was not used to jumping quietly yet.

'Hunting Dice' : 5

Because of this noise, a snake slithered out from a nearby bush.  It's strange moving eyes became locked on her own.  It had quick careful movements and quickly came closer to her.  She barely had time to move before it sank it's teeth into her leg.  Quickly, she hopped back and hissed in dismay at the snake, dropping her prey in the process.  She squinted at the snake for a second trying to think about what it's next move could be.  Then, she jumped forward to kill the snake. Her claws scratched at the creature, until it went limp and a pool of blood lay around it. This was successful as well

She was fine with just bringing that back, until she saw an eagle land on a tall branch of a tree.  She could probably stay out a little longer before anyone else noticed.  She smiled.  She knew that she could not climb the tree that high, so instead she started saying "hello," loudly to herself to get the birds attention.  Soon enough it worked.  The bird came charging at her with the claws on it's talons outstretched.  Shira grinned and jumped out of the way of the bird. When she jumped out of the way, she also quickly sliced her front claws on it's back and wing.

The large bird attempted to fly, but could not fly more then a couple feet above the ground because of it's injuries.  Still it tried to scratch her with it's claws again.  This time, it was able to make contact with her skin and tore some of it off, before she could move.  She focused on the bird and it tumbled to the ground after it attacked.  It stumbled, but eventually stood on it's talons again, leaving it's stomach exposed.  She took advantage of this by running up and scratching at the stomach of the Eagle.

The Eagle quickly jumped back and attempted to fly again. This time got slightly higher then before. It swooped down and flew just over her back, scraping it's claws down her back. This attack was worse then the one before. She hissed loudly at the animal as she felt the stinging pain go down her back. Shira felt like retreating, but at the same time thought that maybe the Eagle would continue to to attack her. This was the fight that she wanted and she needed to finish it. She rushed at the Eagle and jumped to stand on her hind legs, putting her front legs up, and scratched the birds stomach and neck. She smiled, realizing that she had almost defeated it.

The Eagle scratched her with it's talons again. This time she did not feel it as much, she was too excited and focused to care much. She turned away from the Eagle and turned her head to look back at it. A large smile spread across her face. She lifted her back legs up and hit them on the Eagles head as hard as she could. It stumbled and then quickly fell over, lifeless.

She was happy that she killed the last few prey.  She began to feel really tired and sore.  Shira wanted to go back to camp, but needed to do something first.  She surveyed the area, looking for signs of moment.  There were a few birds, but the was not what she was looking for.  She waited patiently for a little while and was about to leave when she heard something coming up the path.  She turned her head and finally spotted what she was looking for.  A white furry creature with a fluffy tail came hopping on the side of her, not knowing she was there.  Finally, she could try this again.  She got close to the ground and slowly caught up to the rabbit.  She got closer and then ponced. She got it in her paws and bit into it to make sure it was dead. Now she could go back and sleep. She put the eagle and bird in her mouth. Shira hid the rabbit and snake for her to eat the next night she would come out. As she walked back she looked back up at the stars. Maybe if I can catch all this, maybe I am better at what I do then I think.
