Subject: Cry of the Black Birds [Flintstar] Wed 18 Nov 2020 - 16:32
Mistyfalcon made his way towards the pine grove, finding it easier to keep up with Flintstar's longer stride now that he was no longer a half-grown apprentice on his moonstone journey. The night air was crisp, and the clouds above promised snow probably sooner rather than later, but there was still prey to be caught. The chill in the air wasn't that bad... So long as he kept his mind off of it.
As they reached the pine grove (in relative silence, Mistyfalcon had grown to appreciate his less-talkative clanmates even more recently), Mistyfalcon slowed his pace, scenting the air in hopes of finding prey.

It was...Odd. Flintstar wasn't used to hunting with others but in some way, Mothglow's death (and in reality, Freckleface's suggestions) caused him to reconsider being more...Open with his Clanmates. Trying to get used to the idea of hunting with them, interacting with them. Being more than a distant leader. He had taken the lead on this hunting trip, padding ahead of Mistyfalcon as they reached the pine grove - a gentle, easy silence between them. He glanced behind him at his companion, pointing his tail toward the ground as he swept it to the side - a simple signal to spread out...Or in this case, that the leader was going off on his own.
With that, he padded away, tasting the air. The air was growing colder...Which meant that getting as much prey as they could was for the best. The cold would let it stay fresher for longer, but prey was also about to get harder once the snow started to fall. The only real question, was what did Flintstar feel like trying to catch? The pine grove had always been a rather good hunting spot, and even now he could pick up the scent of a couple different prey lurking about. With any luck, the two would bring home a good deal of prey to help feed their growing Clan.

Mistyfalcon nodded at his leader's signal, silently slipping through the pine trees in search of his own prey. Much like with Brighteye, there was little need for words between them when body language was clear enough, and the leader being about as quiet as Mistyfalcon usually was was a comfort.
Mistyfalcon's ear twitched as he caught sight of movement, and he slowly began creeping up on the furry gray shape that was likely foraging for its' own food. Hare, he realized as he slowly crept closer. A reasonably hard catch, but a rewarding catch. And... Maybe Brighteye would appreciate it. Her efforts to make him comfortable while he'd been recovering in Cinderpaw's den had not gone unnoticed.
Closer Mistyfalcon moved, and his muscles bunched as he prepared to leap for the hare. His paws landed squarely on the creature, and he quickly nipped it, cutting off its' squeal of surprise.
Mistyfalcon attempted to catch a hare. Catch was ? 157 / 160 sp
