no longer just eggs, they're chicks! (open)

Several nights ago, he had waited impatiently outside the nursery. Though Softbreeze was skilled and experienced in handling these matters, and Heatherrain in good health, Deerhawk couldn't help but worry. He knew of otherwise perfectly healthy queens going downhill fast due to complications. He'd seen too much in his many moons and his heart felt uneasy. His concern was unfounded, however. Everything went well. Though the other queens practically had to kick him out, as he'd wanted to sleep next to her and their new kits that night, but the den was already a bit too full for him.

Enough time passed so that now his three daughters - his own kids, he never thought he'd see the day - were up and about, their eyes open and paws a little unsteady. Today he was making sure his mate got her proper rest. Tawnykit, Spiderkit, and Henkit could be little pawfuls if they wanted to be. So many Clanmates to meet, new things to smell, and new sights to see! He could see behind him a little fluffball of a kit, Henkit, "stalking" his tail as best she could. He pretended not to see her until she pounced/ fell onto her target, her little claws nabbing his tail as her prize.

Henkit looked up at her father when he made a noise of surprise and she gave a toothy grin before scuttling to hide out of sight from her sisters. She was going to surprise them too! Even if her excited tail revealed her spot all too easily.

As the days passed and life went on in WindClan, Olivestar liked to keep on top of Clan news, such as the news of new kits being born. When Heatherrain went into labor, she'd seen Deerhawk pacing outside the nursery as Softbreeze's capable paws helped the three little new bundles into the world, and it was with great joy that the medicine cat announced that the birth went off without a hitch.

By now, the kits were exploring camp, pelts still kitten-soft and paws clumsy, and she was fondly reminded of her own children, who would be denmates with the newest additions. Olivestar laid on a flat stone sticking out of the ground, warm from the sun that had fallen on it that day, and she watched with a smile as Henkit stalked her father's tail, pouncing on it with a grin. The kit didn't wait a second before scuttling off to hide, unaware that her tail was giving away her hiding spot. The leader let out a small chuckle as she watched the trio of fluffballs play and tumble, and she purposely let her tail dangle and flick enticingly to any kit that wanted to try their luck.

Eagletalon had heard the buzz around the camp that a queen, Heatherrain, had given birth to 3 healthy kits. She wanted to go over to the nursery to see what they were like, but was unsure if her company was either appreciated or expected. She sighed and looked around the camp, seeing that the father of the kits, Softbreeze, was as proud as an eagle. She rolled her eyes at the though of her thinking about an eagle. (What a warrior you are,) she scolded herself (You can't even provide warrior's for the clan.)
