Flowers in the Summer (closed)

Making his way through the forest, Sunflower padded onward, to nowhere in particular. He'd gone hunting earlier that day and decided that with the weather being so nice, it was as good of a time as ever to patrol the borders as well. Thus far, he'd patrolled the gorge and Thunderpath borders and had been lucky enough to not run into any trouble at either of them. Now, he made his way towards the Twolegplace border, which brought him a jumble of mixed feelings. Last time he was here, he'd encountered a Twoleg kit, which had been a shocking come-across, especially since she'd given him that sky-pelt, but even so... he couldn't help but hope that she was there. Her words, whatever she'd tried to say to him, were calming and her touch although somewhat alarming as first, had been gentle. How she'd treated him brought him the same warm feeling as when his mother would coddle him in his kithood days, and he secretly hoped to be able to feel such joy again.

Slowing to a stop at the edge of the forest, the tall, slender tom kept his ears perked and eyes alert. Although this place hadn't been so bad when he'd visited before, it still wasn't any excuse to let his guard down, seeing as though a plethora of things could attack him at any given moment...

Summer had nowhere to be. She rarely did, but today she not only wasn't required to be anywhere but she also wasn't even quite certain where she wished to be that day. Some days being a drifter was easier than others... but really if the only hardship was deciding where to go and what to do, she couldn't really complain. The heat wasn't too unbearable; it seemed it would be a little cooler than the other days recently. Summer couldn't really justify staying in one place on such a lovely day, so she set out, intending to find... some kind of destination. Of course, the Clans were her first thoughts, but she wasn't sure she desired to go to WindClan. SkyClan and ShadowClan were both really close to the border of the upwalker territory? Or, well, Twolegplace, as the Clan cats called it. ShadowClan had been a bit... prickly, so she settled for SkyClan and set off towards the sprawling, stretching trees.

The pale flame-pointed cream she-cat merely walked, unaware at first, into the lanky white cat's view; her posture was relaxed, thick tail flicking gently, and her blue eyes were soft, a passive, friendly expression on her face. Summer felt the scents of SkyClan drifting over her tongue and was swiftly alerted to the cat's presence, especially when her eyes flickered over to his stark white body. The loner made a soft trill and slowed her already slow approach, her tail raising in an arch. Oh, that must be why the Clan scent is so strong! Summer thought. "Hello, there, darling!" the drifter greeted the tom cat without approaching any further, letting his scent wash over her tongue.

Not having expected any-cat to talk to him Sunflower snapped his head in the direction of where the voice had come from. The she-cat that stood several foxlengths away from him didn't look scary nor had her greeting sounded threatening, he never could be too sure.

Taking the smallest of steps back, his legs beginning to quiver where he stood, he made sure to not take his eyes off of the she-cat, but keep his ears perked for any-cat that might be lurking somewhere else in the brush. "H-hi," the meek voiced warrior mewed softly in reply.

The clearly on-edge tom cat immediately jerked his head to look at her, and though Summer seemed to have effectively conveyed her peaceful intention, she could see the uneasiness on his face while he regarded her posture. He stepped back, and she could see the slight tremble in his frame. Summer leaned back as well, easing into a graceful seated position with her blue eyes shining warmly. "I hope I didn't interrupt you, darling," Summer said apologetically. "You seem like you're looking for someone. Can I help you?" The ginger-cream she-cat dipped her head slightly where she sat and introduced herself politely, "I'm Summer. I'm not from this place, but maybe I've seen something since I've been here?" She tilted her head inquisitively.
