Willowkit’s Apprentice Ceremony

(OOC: Oh my lord I’m so sorry this is so late, life’s been crazy lately and I’ve had zero muse)

Ravenmist stood atop her usual place on the Jaggedrock, preparing for yet another apprentice ceremony. It was good news that her Clan was growing so quickly, with so many young cats, but it also left her with the difficult task of finding mentors for them all. Many warriors, herself included, were training multiple apprentices at a time, and she had to be careful not to assign too many to a cat who didn’t have the time or energy to.

But she had found a good one for Willowkit. “Let all cats old enough to catch their own prey gather beneath the Jaggedrock for a Clan meeting!” She waited for the Clan’s members to gather, then continued. “Willowkit, please step forward.”

Willowkit was padding up to the meeting as it was her apprentice ceremony. It was her first time being surrounded by so many cats but she didn't mind. She looked at all her future friends and the cats she would be helping and smiled in joy. The cream colored shekit smiled up at ravenmist admired by the deputies scars and how brave the older cat was.

Ravenmist waited until the needed cats, at least, were gathered, before speaking the customary words. “Willowkit, you have reached the age of six moons, and the time has come for you to be apprenticed. Vinetail will be your mentor. He is a strong and capable warrior, and I trust that he will teach you well.” She paused for a moment, then joined in with the rest of her Clan chanting the newest apprentice’s name.

He seemed fairly surprised, but didn't say anything. He went up and touched his new apprentices nose with his nose. "after the rest of the ceremony, go sleep and we will start early in the morning." He responded in a stern voice.
