Daisypaw's Moonstone Journey

The beginnings of newleaf brought a surge of apprentices taking the step to become warriors. Just days ago she had accompanied yet another apprentice on their journey, and she would set off on this journey with the knowledge that she would return, rest, and make the journey once again. Making a note to herself to go out and collect more daisy (a realization that made her tail curl in amusement) Mossbloom gathered up the necessary herbs and ate her share before making her way once again to the apprentice's den. Setting down the strong-smelling bundle, much greener and fresher than the recent ones she'd been forced to use, she poked her small calico head into the den. "Good morning, Daisypaw. It's time for you to wake, we have a long journey ahead of us!" Pulling back, Mossbloom waited patiently outside of the den, regarding the sunrise with quiet curiosity. 

Daisypaw had been sleeping quite peacefully when she had been woken by the medicine cat. She sat up, groggily, listening to thee voice of Mossbloom. Smiling as she realized what was happening, she stood up and left the den. She was finally on her Moonstone Journey, close to becoming a warrior! ”Good morning!” she mewed, looking to the sky as the sun rose on the start of her journey to becoming a fully-fledged warrior.

"Good morning!" Mossbloom purred back with a smile, following the she-cat's gaze towards the sky. "It looks like it will be a beautiful day for traveling, which is great for us!" She picked the bundle of herbs at her paws up and gently deposited them at the apprentice's, giving her a nod. "These are for you. They'll keep your strength up on the journey, and keep you from feeling tired and hungry. They taste bitter, so we'll stop at a nearby stream before we truly set off on our journey. Eat up!" She mewed, watching the expression on the little she-cat. Was she nervous, excited? Mossbloom hadn't had the usual trip to the Moonstone when she was an apprentice, considering that the entire territory had been flooded and the clans either forced or swept from their homes. Therefore, she shared the excitement of her companions as they made their journeys, walking in the pawsteps of their ancestors.

Once Daisypaw had eaten her herbs, Mossbloom led the way from camp, keeping true to her word and directing them towards a small stream nearby, running with cold, fresh water. After the two had their fill, their journey began, paws turning towards Fourtrees and WindClan, then the land beyond the clans.
~Time Skip~
It had been a long, but quiet journey, the Thunderpath nearly silent as they had approached. It was certainly strange, to say the least, but as they crossed unhindered Mossbloom wished it was always that way. It wasn't much longer before they reached Mothermouth, and Mossbloom led the way into the tunnels to the Moonstone calmly. Once settled in the dark, shadowed cavern, she turned to the apprentice. "It's almost time. Once the Moonstone lights up, you will lay down and press your nose to it's surface. StarClan will take it from there. If you have any questions, or concerns, please don't hesitate to let me or Oakstar, or Nettlefire know." As she finished, the blinding light filled the cavern as the Moonstone began to shine in all of it's glory. Giving the apprentice a reassuring nod, Mossbloom stepped back and settled into her usual spot.

Daisypaw had swallowed the herbs, wrinkling her nose for the majority of them. They were pretty disgusting, and they didn’t help the nervous, sinking feeling in her stomach that something would go wrong. She never really felt that she lived up to Starclan’s expectations, she was a nervous cat, who was scared to battle anycat. She was also, as she had recently learned, a half-blooded cat. Impure. Which was what StarClan was punishing. These fears accompanied her to the Moonstone. When she was there, she listened to the medicine cat’s instructions, and watched as it lit up. That was one of the most amazing things Daisypaw had ever seen. It also filled her with a bit of comfort, strangely. As she laid down and touched her nose to the Moonstone, it seemed as if she instantly had woken up. What’s happening? Did I do something wrong? she panicked, looking around for Mossbloom. When she didn’t see the medicine cat, she turned around to see another at approaching. Letting out a sigh of relief, Daisypaw realized she was in StarClan, or at least, somewhere where she would meet one of it’s members. She watched the unfamiliar cat, in awe, not saying anything.

Falconwing padded forward, smiling. “Greetings, Daisypaw. I am Falconwing, former warrior of ThunderClan, and Mossbloom’s adopted mother. How are you?” It was a simple question, certainly out of place for such an important setting. But the light tabby figured she may as well put the young molly at ease.

Daisypaw smiled as she looked at Falconwing. ”Hello. I’m good. Thanks.” she said awkwardly. She drinks know how to greet the Starclan cat. She waited for what the she-cat would she next. It would be important, surely.

Falconwing nodded. "You're a good cat, Daisypaw, with a big heart. Never lose that, no matter what happens. Some might call it weakness, but it will take you far in life. Love deeply, play joyfully, protect fiercely, and live life to it's fullest. Stay loyal to your Clan, your family, and the Code. Follow these principles, and when your time comes, you'll join our ranks satisfied with what you've done in the living world." She flicked an ear, watching a bird fly overhead, before turning a warm yellow gaze back to Daisypaw, maw turned into a smile.

"And be careful about the toms you choose when you're older. I had a bad reputation with the loves of my life turning out to be rather nasty cats." She chuckled, nudging the apprentice playfully. "I'm sure you'll serve your Clan well as a warrior. Say hi to Mossbloom for me." Falconwing gave a nod of farewell, before padding away.

Daisypaw’s worries slowly washed away as Falconwing started to compliment her. She listened to the things Falconwing said, nodding and listening. She would live her life to the fullest! No more holding back! Within reason, of course. She smiled as the starry warrior joked about toms. Daisypaw hadn’t met anyone, and she wasn’t sure if she would. Still, it was funny nonetheless. As she closed the conversation, she nodded. ”Goodbye Falconwing!” she called out, before waking up. She ran up to Mossbloom. ”Mossbloom! Guess what! I met Falconwing. She said to say hi to you!” mewed the apprentice excitedly. Already, she was more confident. Starclan believed in her! All that time spent worrying was pointless. She was proud of the praise the former warrior had given her. She would always remember that conversation.
