Nightpaw's Warrior Ceremony

Looking out among her Clanmates, Ivystar took a moment to just... Watch. They had a routine that they rarely strayed from, something that the she-cat missed from before she was a leader. There was always something going on that changed the way her life worked, but for the most part, her Clanmates could still carry out their daily tasks in a somewhat-normal manner. Shaking her head, she leaped up to the Willow Branch, her feathery tail hanging below her. "All cats old enough to catch their own prey, gather beneath the Willow Branch for a Clan meeting!" Her voice rang out among camp, and she settled as she waited for that one particular tom to approach.

Nightpaw had been sitting by the nursery with his mother for the morning. He was excited and nervous at the same time. Then when Ivystar called out to the clan he ran straight to the front. It wasn't that different than his apprentice ceramony. Ivystar sitting on the Willow Branch, him being excited. His mother watching from the nursery. It was nearly the same!

After a few moments of waiting for her Clanmates to gather, Ivystar gave a simple nod of her head as her apprentice raced to the front. "Nightpaw, as your mentor I have faith that it is time for you to take on the responsibilities of a warrior as a result of your constant and unrelenting efforts with training and your duties. If you believe this to be true, step forward now, and your ceremony will begin." Her emerald eyes met those of her apprentice beneath her, knowing that the young tom was ready to receive his name.

Nightpaw stepped forward excitedly. He was going to become a warrior!

Ivystar gave a simple nod of approval as Nightpaw took those final steps forward, looking to him with her usual stony expression. "I, Ivybrook, deputy of RiverClan, call upon my warrior ancestors to look down on this apprentice. He has trained hard to understand the ways of your noble code, and I commend him to you as a warrior in his turn. Nightpaw, do you promise to uphold the warrior code and to protect and defend your Clan, even at the cost of your life?" Her gaze was unwavering as she looked down upon the young tom, waiting for his answer.

Nightpaw nodded. "Yeah!" he mewed.

Ivystar looked down on her apprentice as he confirmed his oath, swearing his life to RiverClan no matter the situation. "Then, by the powers of StarClan, I give you your warrior name. From this day forth, you will be known to all as Nightwold. Riverclan honors your excitable and energetic nature through tough times. Tonight, as tradition demands, you will hold a silent vigil while the rest of the clan sleep. Until then, however, we celebrate the rise of a new Riverclan warrior." Nightwolf would make a fine warrior.

Nightpaw- no Nightwolf squealed with excitment. He was now a warrior! That means he could anything within the warrior code. Nightwolf wagged his tail excitedly. He really was a warrior! "Guys guys I'm a warrior now!" Squeaked Nightwolf.

Addershade smiled as his son's warrior ceremony came to a close. Against all the darkness and complications of their current world, he had made it-- the first of his children to earn his warrior name. And it was funny-- his own warrior ceremony, it felt like it was so long ago. And for the first time the dark-pelted tom realized that's because, well, it was. He was starting to get older now, wasn't he? Where had the time gone?

But all things considered-- all things considered-- it's been alright, hasn't it? Here I am. I have a loving mate. My son's a warrior. And my other children are all strong apprentices, who will be warriors themselves soon enough. The world may be terrifying sometimes, but...I suppose it isn't all bad

"Son. Nightwolf," he said, going to greet the new warrior, smiling as he said his son's new name. "I am-- I am so, so proud of you. Your mother is, too. But even though you're a full warrior now-- I hope you'll never hesitate to come to me if you ever need help,"

Applepaw smiled. His brother was a warrior already. Applepaw had been the last of the litter to be apprenticed, he assumed the same would happen with becoming a warrior. Night Wolf was a pretty cool name though, and he thought it fit the playful tom. ”Nightwolf! Nightwolf!” He chanted the new name. He felt a little jealousy, but Poppypaw still wasn’t a warrior either. And Applepaw knew he was close to his Moonstone Journey. He could wait, just a little longer.
