Whispering Winds

The star-studded moorland was bright, the quiet humming of bugs and life filling the swaying gorse. A gentle, playful breeze swept across the landscape, carrying the scent of nearby rabbits with it. Galestar gazed around, admiring the moorland she had spent countless moons wandering both in life and in death. She had often hunted the tall grasses, searching for her next meal in the starry landscape and been content with her finds - but this time she was here for a different reason. A she-cat of WindClan, bold and pure, had been called to her momentarily, and now lay slumbering peacefully among the gorse and sunlight.

Gray eyes looked over her chosen messenger, glimmering with warmth and respect, and an odd addition of hope. She was confident in her decision, the warrior and queen would be a fine messenger, worthy of the news she had to share, and would be strong enough to carry it to the proper recipients. Sitting straight, tabby coat glistening with stars despite the sunlight, she called out to her visitor. "Welcome, warrior of WindClan. Your strength and dedication to your clan have not gone unnoticed, and I ask you to rise and stand before me."

Spotlake looked up to see a tabby cat with fur littered with stars. The terrian was different. Then the cat spoke. Spotlake did as the starclan cat told her to do. Spotlake stood before the starclan she-cat. Questions flashed through her mind. But Spotlake stayed silent. She just listened.

The she-cat, Spotlake, stood silently. Appreciating the Swift response, the hint of a smile crossed Galestar's expression before she began to speak again. "I have a very important task for you, Spotlake. The medicine cats and their apprentices have already been given their chance to deliver the messages tasked to them, and they let the opportunity slip through their paws, wasting their chance to set things right before we had to intervene. It is due to this lack of responsibility, of respect, that the clans are in the precarious situation they now find themselves in. It is due to those of higher rank's failure that I now come to you, with a request, a task, and a plea."

Galestar's eyes flashed ad she regarded the she-cat calmly, watching her reaction carefully before continuing. "Impurities blossom like algae in a riverbed. May these spores infect every nest lined with immorality, in every camp, in every den, until their confession is suitable to the stars. WindClan has stood strong against many enemies, for more seasons than either of us know. However, in order to restore WindClan to it's proper power and dignity, to save it from the doom that your leader, Finchstar, is so blindly and carelessly marching you and your kits towards, you have to rise up and lead the clan down the path of righteousness. All of WindClan, and it's fate, lies on your shoulders, Spotlake. Are you up for the task? You are of pure blood, and your loyalty can not be questioned. Will you be WindClan's champion, and rise to the challenge?"

Spotlake listened her face solid as stone, her body still. Once the starclan cat stopped speaking, Spotlake gave a brisk nod. "Y-yes. I'll make sure that Windclan will uh be safe again! So no cat could be hurt!" Agreed Spotlake, nodding her head.

Galestar's stony, calm demeanor relaxed as she genuinely smiled at the queen, eyes softening. "Thank you, Spotlake. I love WindClan, and the members of it that belong there. I want nothing more than for them to thrive and be successful, under the rules and laws of the warrior code that has been passed on for generations. It is a very unfortunate state of affairs that all of the clans have fallen into, with hearts of ill-intent being allowed in without due thought, or a blind-eye being turned to wrongdoings out of favortism. The blatant disregard of the rules that have made the clans what they are for generation is what has led to the current mess in the clans, but with your help we can reverse the damage done and set things right once more, working together to a bright new dawn for our loved ones and descendants."

The wind rustled the fur of her tabby coat slightly, the scent of rabbit even closer than it had been before. Lowering her head briefly in acknowledgment to the warrior before her, Galestar stood and touched her nose briefly to the she-cat's head. "The time has gone so fast, it is time for you to wake my dear. Your kits and loved ones will be waking soon, and you with them. StarClan is counting on you to deliver the message and save your clan, and all of the clans. Go with my blessing, Spotlake. If you have questions, you only need to reach out, I will hear you." Stepping back slightly, Galestar flicked her tail slightly as the figure of the she-cat before her faded until there was nothing left but empty space where the living cat had once stood, before turning towards the wind, revelling in the warmth of the sun and the wind coursing through her fur.
