Frecklepaw's Warrior Ceremony

"ShadowClan! Gather beneath the shadow of the Jaggedrock!" Flintshard leapt onto the Jaggedrock, tail swishing as he spared a glance toward the apprentice den. This was a long time coming, a new warrior would be named today...A sign that ShadowClan was truly growing. It was a shame that Thornstar couldn't be doing this as this was her apprentice - she still didn't feel up to doing any ceremonies at the moment. But...Flintshard was honestly a bit...Happy to be doing this himself. He had more or less taken over Frecklepaw's training in the last few moons and had grown to rather...Tolerate the young she-cat. She wasn't the worst cat to have around and there was something charming about her, he supposed. There was a joy to see her final get her warrior name, she deserved it and...

Maybe, just maybe, he was happy with the thought that he would seen her a tad more often.

Bounding out from the apprentice's den with a smile plastered onto the she-cat's face, Frecklepaw sat beneath the jagged rock with anticipation. She knew without a doubt that her ceremony had to be near, because Flintshard had given Mothglow the go-ahead to send her on her moonstone journey. It was quite exciting for the petite she-cat, and each time a meeting was called she waited in not-so-patiently, sure that it would finally be her turn. She was just as optimistic as she waited for Flintshard to continue the meeting, tail tip twitching wildly.

Flintshard tracked Frecklepaw with a watchful gaze as she stepped from the apprentice's den, ear twitching in acknowledgement as she sat among the crowd. "I've gathered you all here for a warrior ceremony," he stated, knowing that it would perhaps come as a surprise - it wasn't his place to do so but circumstances called for it to be so. "Frecklepaw, please step forward." He dipped his head toward her, motioning for her to take her spot at the front of the crowd. "I, Flintshard, deputy of ShadowClan, call upon my warrior ancestors to look down on this apprentice. They have trained hard to understand the ways of your noble code, and I commend them to you as a warrior in their turn. Frecklepaw, do you promise to uphold the warrior code and to protect and defend your Clan, even at the cost of your life?"

Beaming when her name was called, the little apprentice stepped forward with an air of confidence. Her feathery tail flowed behind her as she smiled up at him, hanging onto each of his words. Of course, she would, what kind of question was that? "I do!" Her sharp teeth showed as she grinned ear to ear, ready to finally hear what name he'd decided to give her.

Flintshard huffed, the barest of a smile curling at the edges of his lips as Frecklepaw happily gave her answer. He expected nothing less - he had seen that drive when they had fought off the spiky rat. She had been eager to help - throwing herself in harms way to help protect him...At least until they realized how...Dangerous the spiky rat truly was with its many quills. "Then by the powers of StarClan, I give you your warrior name. Frecklepaw, from this moment on you will be known as Freckleface. StarClan honors your optimism and kindness, and we welcome you as a full warrior of ShadowClan." With that, he jumped to the ground to stand before Freckleface, stepping forward to rest his chin on her head as per tradition. He thought about trying to say something else but words failed him - while he was..Fond of Freckleface, the two didn't know each other well and any words he thought about sounded...Strange to even think about saying out loud. So he simply let her embrace the chanting of her name - as she was finally a warrior.
