Cedarpaw crouched as her mentor leapt at her, and as the warrior was flying overhead, she sprung up, trying to knock the she-cat to the ground. She stayed focused, in case her mentor dodged the attack and countered her move. She wanted to make sure she would not be defeated this time.

She'd been expecting Cedarpaw to hunker down and try to shoulder her off, but instead, the apprentice went up, trying to knock her away - and it worked! Knocked off balance, Rainstrike twisted in the air enough to smack Cedarpaw between the ears with a sheathed paw, but not enough to correct her course. She managed to land neatly on all fours, and stared up at Cedarpaw with an impressed expression. "You keep it up and you're going to be a force to be reckoned with, for sure."

Without giving her time to prepare again, Rainstrike leaped up, swiping her paw across the base of the rock in an attempt to pull the apprentice's feet out from below her.

Cedarpaw smiled, watching Rainstrike’s eyes, waiting for indication of her mentors next move. She knew that this spar wasn’t over, not yet. She watched as the she-cats eyes darted towards Cedarpaw’s feet, and without having time to think, she fell, losing her footing. She landed on the rock. Soon, she had pulled herself up, and she slashed at her mentor with her sheathed claw.
