| Thornstar shoved her head into the apprentice's den and scanned the little balls of fur within. She couldn't actually fit in here anymore, but it didn't matter.
She wouldn't bother going all the way in there regardless.
The instant her gaze landed on her apprentice, she spoke up.
"Frecklepaw. Get up. Let's go."
She watched a few of the other apprentices jerk awake with a start, but couldn't bring herself to feel even mild remorse for disturbing their sleep. They needed to be up regardless, the sun was setting and their training was soon to begin. She shot a glance at Nightpaw especially, flicking her ear in disapproval before removing her head from beneath the tangled briar bush shielding the apprentice's den from the sun. | The drifting snowfall within her dreams was abruptly interrupted as Thornstar called her, presumably to begin training of some sort. Without missing a beat, the apprentice was on her paws. Despite the slight feeling of grogginess, she was excited to finally get started with Thornstar. She'd heard many things about the leader... But surely, she wasn't all that bad. Right?
After a rushed groom, Frecklepaw met her leader just within the camp's border. "I'm ready now." Though it was a struggle, she managed to contain her excitement as she looked up at her mentor. Why Thornstar had chosen to mentor her was beyond Frecklepaw's explanation- She was the runt of the litter, and... her former deputy's daughter. Ah, that had to be it.
