Amberpaw's Warrior Ceremony

"Let all cats old enough to climb a tree gather beneath the Tallbranch for a Clan meeting!" Spottedstar called out, summoning his clan to gather. Today his second apprentice would become a warrior, honored by StarClan and SkyClan for all of her training and learning. The tomcat watched the appearing cats from the Tallbranch, keeping an eye out for Amberpaw, and awaited everyone's attention before continuing on.

Amberpaw sprinted out into the clearing. Her eyes brightened  she knew what this meeting was for, there was no doubt her her mind, this was her ceremony, the greatest of the great, the amazingest the bestest. And the whole clan would be watching. Oh Starclan was this the best day of her life?!

There she was, scampering to her place in the clearing. It was refreshing to have clanmates with such energy to balance out all of the recent tension. "We gather here today to give one of our apprentices their warrior name and rank. Amberpaw has proven herself worthy to climb the ranks of SkyClan and receive her warrior name." He met her gaze, a proud smile crossing his mouth. This was his apprentice earning her name. "Step forth, Amberpaw."

Spottedstar allowed her time to move forward from the crowd before moving on. "I, Spottedstar, SkyClan's leader, call upon our ancestors to look down on this apprentice. She has trained hard to understand the ways of your noble code, and I commend her to you as a warrior in her turn. Amberpaw, do you promise to uphold the warrior code and to protect and defend your clan, even at the cost of your life?" He knew the answer already.

Amberpaw stepped one paw forward and basically her whole body followed after. She knew she worked so hard for this, but she was nervous despite her wide-eyed gleaming look. She stared up at Spottedstar and gave her chest a swift lick.

She heard Spottedstar's voice, and without any hesitation she raised her head proudly and meowed. "I do!" Her fluffy tail waved in the air her paws prickling with excitement. She remembered what the Shadowclan/Starclan cat said to her and laid her tail down, she felt hot with embarrassment at the thought of the wiser cat watching her, but her face stayed the same. She was going to be a warrior, not a silly kit.

He smiled at her emphatic meow, pleased to have such proud cats in his clan. "Then by the powers of StarClan, I give you your warrior name. Amberpaw, from this day on you will be named Amberwing. SkyClan honors your cheerful attitude and repesctfulness." Spottedstar jumped from his branch, approaching his former apprentice. He rested his muzzle gently on her head as was customary. "Well done, Amberwing. You've earned this. Prepare yourself for your vigil tonight."
