Deerkit burst out of the nursery without a second thought. Deerkit had just opened his eyes and now he could finally explore camp. Maybe he could make some new friends! Big cats walked through camp leaving and entering. Deerkit quickly ran around camp knowing eacg of the scents before stopping in front of the nursery. Deerkit was really tired after running around camp. He sat down and began waiting. Deerkit didn't know what he was waiting for. Maybe to regain energy. Or maybe waiting to see if anyone would talk to him.

Spottedstar set a magpie down on the fresh-kill pile. He'd wandered off into the territory alone, and while most of the clan came to expect such behavior from him, he still decided it would be unwise to leave and not return with at least a single piece of prey. Gazing around camp, he decided he'd visit Murkpelt. A new litter had been born, two healthy tomkits. Firflower was ecstacic at the birth of new grandkits. The leader caught sight of Deerkit, panting outside the nursery, and walked over to the kit with an affectionate smile."Hey there, Deerkit, you look tired. Been getting into trouble?"

Deerkit shook his head. "No I was just exploring camp." Deerkit replied. He felt pride with having the leader as his father. Spottedstar seemed like such a good cat.

Featherkit was laying on the ground, watching as Deerkit leaped around the camp. He walked out, silently watching him prance around. He jumped up and started bouncing around with him. "Hey Deerkit, you want to play tag?" Without waiting for an answer he leapt at his sibling, swatting them on the ear with their paw. "Your it!" He mewed, bouncing away giggling.

From the apprentices' den, Honeypaw watched as Spottedstar's and Murkpelt's two newest kits tumbled around in front of the nursery. They were her new brothers. She already had another younger brother, Wolfpaw, and now she had two more. She wanted so badly to go over and introduce herself to her kin. But ... what if they didn't like her? What if they didn't want her to play with them? What if they ended up hating her? She didn't want her brothers to hate her. She wanted them to love her, just as she loved them. Sure, it had been nice being an only kit in the beginning, but now she felt happy that she wasn't. She wanted them to feel happy knowing they had a sister, too.

But what if they wouldn't be happy?

With a sad, hopeless sigh, Honeypaw gave in to her timidity. She lay her chin on her paws and glanced away, beginning to feel tears pricking her teal eyes. She felt miserable.

Deerkit mewed excitedly when Featherkit ran up to him. Deerkit chased his brother around camp. He only had one goal. Catch Featherkit.

Featherkit looked back, forgetting to watch ahead of him. He chuckled, instantly slamming into Honeypaw. "Oh, hey Honeypaw!" He meowed, feeling a little embarrassed. "Would you like to join us? Tag is no fun with only two people, and your still our sister!" He gave his sister a small headbutt. He had forgotten that Deerkit was still following him and that he had given them a big advantage but stopping to talk, but he didn't care, just wanted Honeypaw to join in.

Featherkit’s bumping into her startled Honeypaw, and she leaped up in the air with a yelp. Her bushes fur beginning to flatten when she realized she wasn’t in any immediate danger, she began to register what her younger brother had said. He wanted her to play with them? Happiness and warmth blossomed within her chest, and she smiled. ”O-Oh! Y-Yes, I’d love to play with you, thank you!”

Spottedstar watched the kits play, content to watch them enjoy the simple pleasures of playing with siblings. He was pleased when Honeypaw was asked to join, shooting her a warm smile with an encouraging nod. He hadn't been sure he was ready to be a father when Murkpelt announced her first pregnancy, but all of his doubts were quickly melting away at the scene before him. He laid down near the nursery entrance, watching his children interact gleefully. He supposed Murkpelt got the roughest part of the job; he really only had to keep them entertained long enough for her to rest. Spottedstar was proud of them. Maybe Featherkit and Deerkit's healthy energy would help Honeypaw relax a little more.

Deerkit having relized that Honeypaw was now playing tapped her with his paw. "Tag Honeypaw! You're it!" Deerkit squeaked before running off.

Featherkit spotted Deerkit beside him, watching him run off. He was surprised that he hadn't tagged him. He glanced at Honeypaw, smiling and then running off with Deerkit. "I bet she'll get us, she's much bigger and faster, but that just makes it even more fun!" He called. He made sure not to stray too far into the camp, he figured that Spottedstar would get angry at him. He continued on, pretending to swat at Deerkit's tail for practice when he was it.

Her heart warming even more, combating the slight chill of the morning leaf-fall air, Honeypaw broke into a soft trot after the two kits. She didn't want to catch them immediately, or else they would probably think it wouldn't be fun to play with a bigger cat who would always win. Besides, where would the fun in that be? A playful purr erupted from her throat, and her teal eyes narrowed, slowly closing the gap between herself and her two younger brothers. "Uh-oh, I'm catching up! I'm gonna get you!"

Featherkit looked back, determination in his eyes. He wasn't shocked that Honeypaw wasn't going fast, but he wished she would. Instead of running ahead, he stopped, turning and sliding underneath Honeypaw. "Hee Hee! I suppose you wouldn't have expected that!" He chuckled, tapping his sisters tail and running off.

Wolfpaw hurt everywhere. Ever since becoming an apprentice, he'd been on his paws non-stop, training, hunting, learning, and it was glorious. He was well on his way to learning everything it took to be a warrior, and even the near-constant ache as his body adjusted to all the activity wasn't enough to dampen the dark apprentice's determination to be the best.

He was just waking up when he heard the sound of voices in the apprentice den, and Wolfkit opened his eyes just in time to see Honeypaw drawn away from the mouth of the den by their two younger siblings. Though he was reluctant to leave the warmth of his nest at first, curiosity got the better of him, and Wolfpaw stretched with a pained groan before padding to the entrance. His siblings were galloping around the clearing in a game of tag, and while Wolfpaw had no real desire to join them, he was content to watch from the shelter of the overhang.

That was, until, he spied his father lounging near the nursery. With a purr, Wolfpaw sauntered over, rubbing his cheek along Spottedstar's shoulder before settling down beside him, the apprentice's dark pelt melding into the leader's spotted one. He didn't say anything, just reveled in the few (that would be undoubtedly brief) moments the leader got to rest and relax with his children.
