Tigerkit's Apprentice Ceremony

Though it had been a few sunrises since Jaystar's death, Ivybrook still felt numb inside. Her entire body still ached from being tosses into the Gorge, but her heart ached more from the loss of her father. The ceremonial words were something she could get used to- the hole in her heart, however, was a different story. "Let all cats old enough to catch their own prey gather beneath the Willow Branch for a clan meeting!" She yowled, hopping up to the branch swiftly. Her scars tugged at her skin, but she ignored the pain as her eyes sought out the young kit that was now ready for apprenticeship.

A little later than his siblings, now it seemed that Tigerkit was finally ready to join Honeypaw and Redpaw in the apprentice den. He was excited and his waving tail was a sign of that. The brown tabby who looked so much alike like his father made his way to the crowd and looked up to Ivybrook, the new deputy.

Once she had the attention of the younger kit and several of her Clanmates, she nodded her head and beckoned Tigerkit forward. "Tigerkit, please step forward." When the soon-to-be-apprentice complied, she continued with the ceremony. "Tigerkit, you have reached the age of six moons, and it is time for you to be apprenticed. From this day forward until you become a warrior, you will be known as Tigerpaw. Addershade will be your mentor. I trust that he will guide you well in the ways of the Warrior Code." When the ceremony had concluded, the silver deputy left her perch and celebrated with the rest of her Clan, though she wasn't feeling very celebratory inside.
