Tree Parkour [hunting patrol]

The grey cloud over Sandblaze's head had not dissipated, though it probably would have if not for what he did to Burningsun. Every time he saw her hanging around camp, he felt the prickles of shame poke him like brambles underfoot. The only solace he had was escaping on countless patrols. Tinystar had him filling the fresh-kill pile with Sunflower today, and he wasn't exactly happy to have the company. It was no fault of Sunflower's, of course, but it was hard to not feel like a stick in the mud. Usually, it took having a mouthful of bird to get the tom to shut up, but he was particularly less talkative lately.

"I've been seeing swifts everywhere lately," he hummed to his hunting partner as they left camp, "I'm going to snag one of them if I have to fall out of a tree doing it!"

It seemed as though SkyClan was never able to hold onto any high spirits for very long, if ever. The constant foul mood that loomed over the camp every since Maplepaw's exile and the gathering had been enough to make Sunflower want to do nothing more than curl up in his nest forever. But alas, the daily chores had to be done, which meant hunting for prey to feed the clan's bellies.

Staying silent, per usual, the lengthy tom padded after Sandblaze, his long tail swaying back and forth with every step and his abnormally large ears swiveling at every frog croak and bird chirp. Turning his gaze to the shoulder-hunched tom, he looked back to the trees above.

"Good luck," the meek voiced warrior mewed softly as he gazed into the canopy above. Hopefully, today would bode good hunting.

Sandblaze ascended into the treetops with haste, focusing his mind on other things. The sound of birds chirped from all different directions, and he was quick to catch the sound of a landing songbird. The familiar feathers of the swift were a telltale sign that he didn't have time to think. He sprung out from his branch, paws outstretched at the bird. With a sudden squawking, Sandblaze had sunken his fangs into the first catch of the day and brought it to the ground to hide it.

Sandblaze attempted to catch a bird. It was successful!

Following the sound of a bird, Sunflower stalked along the branches until the piece of prey was in his line of sight. He wasn't necessarily good at hunting among the trees, but he would try his hardest, seeing as though it was his duty. Creeping forward and watching his footing, the lengthy tom waited a few moments and lept forward, his long claws extended.

Luckily for him, he'd been successful and landed squarely on the bird's back, killing it with a swift bite before it could make a ruckus. Now, onto the next piece of unsuspecting prey.
