| While Berrycloud was his mentor, the deputy supposedly took an interest in making sure his swimming was coming along. As Salmonpaw waited by the river for the tom, he stared down into the vast expanse. He really did not want to do this. However, his only hope was to learn how to swim just enough to get to the Moonstone. ______________________________________ Astra inclinant... .: Coyotegrin :: Kestrelchirp :: Quailprowler : Singedfox :. #9966ff : #cc3300 : #6699ff : #993366 : Bold WC T5 Warrior : WC T3 Warrior : TC T2 Warrior : SC T1 Warrior (Perma-NPC) "When there's nothing left to burn, you have to set yourself on fire."

| While the ShadowClan loyalists had returned to their own territory a while ago, they had left one cat behind. Salmonpaw, as the former ShadowClan apprentice was known as, had been a RiverClan kit in his first moons. Now that the truth had been revealed, his former home had taken him back―or so it was supposed to be. Frankly put, Scorchclaw was skeptical. As important as blood was, the heart took precedence. Salmonpaw had spent the better part of his life in ShadowClan. He had grown up there, and he had been trained there; surely he held a loyalty towards his marsh-dwelling clanmates. The RiverClan deputy did not fully believe that Jaystar had made the right choice in accepting the young tom back. The Code dictated that the leader's word was to be law, and Scorchclaw obeyed; however, that did not mean that he had to like it. He was told that Salmonpaw could not even swim out of a fear for water. Stars, was he really a RiverClan cat? He was no different from any outsider. As much as he trusted Berrycloud, Scorchclaw had eventually decided to borrow his apprentice for a day.
"Do you see anything in the water, Salmonpaw?" Frosty words greeting said apprentice, the large tabby stepped into view from behind a tall patch of reeds. His pale gaze glittered as he examined Salmonpaw for a moment or two. The disapproval in his eyes was veiled, but so was any other positive emotion that he could have shown.
One could say that Salmonpaw was a rather unfortunate cat. |
