Rowankit's big ya-yeet

Thornbriar scaled the stony slope up to the top of Jaggedrock, looking out over the clan. It was about time for Rowankit to be made an apprentice, no matter what was going around above her ears. She'd seen the little she-cat wandering around camp, but she'd never directly interacted with the ginger tabby. In fact, the most she knew about her was that she was the daughter of Poppyheart and Redwing, and therefore the grandchild of Scorchstar. Good lord, how many of the cats running around here were Scorchstar's kin?

Now that she thought about it, she realized there was... a lot of them.

A few cats saw her leap atop the Jaggedrock and began pattering toward her, but she needed them all here. Setting aside her questions about the mass spread of Scorchstar's blood and lifting her voice into a yowl, she summoned her clanmates.

"Alright rats, get your hides over to the Jaggedrock. It's time for a clan meeting."

"Rowankit, I see you're eager." Nodding to the little ginger she-kit, Thornbriar proceeded.

"You have reached the age of six moons, and it is time for you to begin your training as an apprentice of Shadowclan. Rowankit, from this day on until you receive your warrior name, you shall be known as Rowanpaw. Your mentor will be Tansyheart. I know she will teach you all she knows."

Turning her eye to the crowd once again, Thornbriar sought out the black and white warrior. Tansyheart was one of the few cats Thornbriar remembered never having looked down on her. She would make for a strong mentor and a good role model for Scorchstar's granddaughter. "Tansyheart, I believe you are ready to take on an apprentice. You will be the mentor of Rowanpaw. I trust you will train her well."
