Burningpaw's Warrior Ceremony

Tinystar made his way onto the Tallbranch and called out to the clan, "Let all cats old enough to catch their own prey gather beneath the Tallbranch for a clan meeting!" Today, SkyClan would gain another warrior for their ranks, and while the small leader found it difficult to enjoy much these days, he was proud of his clan for continuing to grow.

Burningpaw sat tall at the front of the corwd after exiting the apprentice den for the last time as an apprentice. She was groomed to perfection. Lightfang and Sandblaze had already joined the warriors, despite being apprenticed after her. Maybe Tinystar would say something extra special about her to make up for it.

"We gather here today to give one of our apprentices their Warrior name and rank," he began, looking out upon the gathering clan bellow. "Burningpaw has proven herself worthy to climb the ranks of SkyClan and receive her Warrior name," Tinystar spoke and then paused for another brief moment before continuing.

"Burningpaw, please step forward."

Once the apprentice stepped forward, the short tom continued. "I, Tinystar, leader of SkyClan, call upon my warrior ancestors to look down on this apprentice. She has trained hard to understand the ways of your noble code, and I commend her to you as a warrior in her turn. Burningpaw, do you promise to uphold the warrior code and to protect and defend your clan, even at the cost of your life?"

Burningpaw stepped forward, ready to greet her new life with genuine excitement. "I do." She said firmly, but loud enough that important cats like Sunflower, Daylily, Lightfang, and Sandblaze could hear. This was the moment. What would her name be?

"Then by the powers of StarClan, I give you your warrior name. Burningpaw, from this day forward you shall be known as Burningsun. SkyClan honors your loyalty and dedication. Congratulations," he finished. With that, Tinystar leaped down from Tallbranch, with the ceremonial words trailing after him.

Burningsun. She loved her name. It fit her, her orange pelt. Her shining personality. But best of all, she was a warrior. Next stop, Deputy.
