In a strange land (closed)

Trotting along the shore of the babbling river with the sun slowly setting behind him, Daisyflame made his way to no where in particular, seeing as though he didn't really know where he was going to begin with. While the fluffy, built tom had an apprentice to train, Marshpaw needed to get his camp chores done, even if it was with another clan. Great StarClan, he never thought they'd be in such a situation. Driven from their home by some crazed tom and living with RiverClan... all of it was just... strange, to say the least.

Shaking the thoughts away, he knew that if he thought about such things any longer, he too wouldn't want to do anything, but he couldn't afford that, for he needed to hunt. Not long after his journey through strange territory, he caught the scent of prey. Crouching down, he stalked forward, making sure to keep light on him paws, and soon enough, spotted a frog sitting along the riverbed.

Stalking forward, Daisyflame waited a few moments, his haunches wiggling back and forth in calibration. Just a few more moments and he'd have caught something to contribute to ShadowClan's portion of the freshkill pile, which of course would be something that he could brag about, seeing as though he would've been able to catch something outside of his comfort zone.

Pouncing forward, instead landing on the frog, a raccoon jumped out at him from out of no where. Hissing and scratching at his face with it's gnarly, sharp claws, it took the tom a moment to figure out what was happening before jumping into action.

With the cat having distrupted his slumber, the raccoon was enraged and leaped into battle without a second thought.
Slashing a paw full of sharp, jagged claws at the feline, it was able to hit some flesh and the scent of blood ran wild through its' nostrils.

The raccoon used Quick Swipe, causing 20 damage and costing 10 stamina.

Letting out a screech as the raccoon was able to claw him, the tom fumbled back, his back arched and tail held high. He wasn't going to let such a mongrel win. Lunging forward, Daisyflame sliced at his opponent with unsheathed claws.

Fuming with fury, the stocky yet mighty beast slashed its' claws at the cat once more. All it wanted was to sleep and eat, was that so hard to ask? It apparently was so for mousebrained cats...

Slashing claws at Daisyflame one last time, the raccoon gave one last hiss of warning. Running off, it was gone just as fast as it had arrived, and left the tom to fend for himself.

Appalled at how quickly he'd been defeated, Daisyflame slunk backwards, his sides aching. Great StarClan, was he really so out of shape that he couldn't fight off a measly raccoon?

With the raccoon gone, it left him to wallow in his defeat, completely exhausted. Well, so much for hunting. After he got patched up, he'd try again, but for now, he had to return to camp, no matter how humiliating it would be, especially in front of all the RiverClanners.
