Alone and... alone (closed)

Trotting through the thin wooded forest with the sun slowly rising behind him, Sunflower made his way to no where in particular, seeing as though he was never one to have a set goal ahead. While the lengthy tom had an apprentice to train, Burningpaw needed to finish up her camp chores, which gave him some much needed time to hunt by himself. It didn't take too much time, and not long after his short journey through the base of the trees, the tom caught the scent of prey. Crouching down as far as his abnormally stick-like legs would allow him to, he crept forward, and soon enough, spotted a bird pecking at the forest floor for its' breakfast. Luckily for him, it was too distracted to even notice the predator lurking behind the brush.

Creeping towards the small yet valuable piece of prey, Sunflower waited a few moments, his haunches wiggling back and forth in anticipation. Just a few more moments and he'd be ready...

Pouncing, the tom's big, and somewhat clumsy paws landed squarely onto the bird's shoulders. With a swift bite to the neck before it could let out a squawk he'd successfully caught a piece of prey. 'Not a bad way to start the morning,' he thought to himself.

Making his way through the territory again, the sound of a squirrel crunching on a pine nut caught his attention. Stalking forward, Sunflower soon spotted the fuzzy little creature, which had been mousebrained enough to eat it's breakfast on the forest floor instead of up in the trees. Waiting a few moments, just like when he'd hunted earlier, he stalked forward, making sure to keep his body as low as possible, though that was something he'd always found a bit difficult.

Leaping out from his hiding spot in some brush, Sunflower swiftly caught the squirrel without any hassle. StarClan must have been wishing him good fortune, for he had been blessed with an odd chance of luck this hunt.

Returning to the spot in which he'd buried the bird, Sunflower made his way back to camp with both kills between his jaws. SkyClan had been fairly well since their return, but he knew that they'd appreciate his efforts, seeing as though they could never have enough prey in the freshkill pile.
