Graykit - Graypaw - Graybriar

Appearance: She is a gray tabby with very dark stripes and a long, thin tail. She has bright sky-blue eyes and a short muzzle. Her fur is short and her frame is thin and tall, with long whiskers. Her back left leg is scarred from injuries fighting a raccoon and then a fox. When she isn't paying attention, her eyes have a very faraway look. She never walks when she can run.

Personality: Graybriar has progressed a long way from the SkyClan apprentice she once was. Moons of hard work have burned away her original dreaminess, and the faraway look in her eyes has been replaced with determination and a spark of warmth. She loves her Clan more than anything, and holds to a strong faith in StarClan despite their actions with Lichenmask. She is kind to everyone, unfailingly loyal to WindClan, and never gives up. Running and hunting are her passions. She hates confrontation with other Clans, but is willing to step up when she has to. Leading is not her strong suit, and she prefers to take advice and be led by others. Her mate and kits are her life and soul- she would do anything for them. Unfortunately, she has a horrible sense of self-worth, and often believes that she isn't good enough. She's fighting fiercely to combat it, though, and strives to push away her feelings of inadequacy for the good of her Clan. Despite plenty of pain and trauma, she remains strong, and wants nothing more than a simple quiet life with Barleytuft and a time of peace in her Clan.

Life:
Due to some heavenly mix-up, Graykit was born in SkyClan. She felt a strong loyalty to her Clan, and a drive to succeed, but she failed at everything she tried. She couldn't jump, she couldn't climb, she couldn't catch any SkyClan prey. Her life was a misery, and everyone could see it. When she went on her Moonstone journey, she was greeted by a she-cat named Pansyface, who informed her of why her life felt so wrong- because it was. She was never meant to be born in SkyClan; she was supposed to be in WindClan. Though Graypaw felt conflicted at first, she eventually realized that the only way that she could be happy would be to follow StarClan's advice and try to join WindClan. She managed to convince Crowstar and Rippedsky to let her go, but when they arrived in WindClan, they seemed understandably reluctant to accept her. However, StarClan had forseen this and given their medicine cat, Mottleheart, a sign to accept the strange SkyClanner.

And so, Ashstar accepted Graypaw- under provisions that she would never go to SkyClan again- as an apprentice. Badgerthorn, who she had met at Gatherings in the past, was her mentor. Despite him already having his warrior name, they were the same age. He trained her well, and they fell in love. After the newly named Brindlestar gave her a warrior name- Graybriar- they became mates and had three kits: Breezekit, Wolfkit, and Briarkit. Breezekit died shortly after of greencough, and then was followed by her mate Badgerthorn. Wolfkit was then kitnapped by rogues and disappeared... all in the space of the same moon. Graybriar was devastated. Almost everything that she loved had been taken away from her, and she was left with only one son. But she raised him with all the love she had, and soon he was chosen to become the next medicine cat apprentice. She didn't participate in the battle with Lichenmask, due to still being a queen back at camp- but after Briarpaw became an apprentice, she returned to her warrior duties. Wolfkit, now Wolf the rogue, returned to talk to her mother again, and promised to return and try to get back into the Clan. However, she never did, for reasons that Graybriar would never know. It hurt far more to have the promise of regaining her daughter dangled in front of her, only to have it taken away.

She was given two apprentices, a brother and sister- Rabbitpaw and Frozenpaw. She put all her effort into training them, still trying to escape the grief of her mate and kits' death. After a patrol with fellow warrior Barleytuft where they discussed their beliefs in StarClan, they became fast friends. While she was training her apprentices, they were attacked by a raccoon, which injured her leg- but she still managed to drive it off. The apprentices helped her back to camp, and Briarpaw treated her leg. It was just a shallow wound, so she was soon on the mend. She was attacked again by a raccoon while patrolling with Frozenpaw, but they beat it back without any further injury. At this point, Graybriar began to wonder whether she was a magnet for predators, or whether they were just becoming desperate due to leaf-bare. She went on another patrol with her friend Barleytuft, who she was starting to gain feelings for, when a fox blindsided her from out of nowhere. It threw her to the side and stunned her while her friend attacked it, but when she got back up and tried to help him, it tore into her already-injured leg. This time, the wounds were far more severe. She fainted from blood loss, and Barleytuft had to carry her back to camp. While she was beginning to heal in the medicine den, Barleytuft visited her, and they had a talk that led to them both realizing and confessing their love for each other. Not very far after, they woke up to an inch of water in the camp, and had to begin evacuating. Graybriar couldn't get far with her injury, and both Briarpaw and Barleytuft came back to help her, to her dismay. Her son made it to safety before the dam broke, but the injured she-cat and her mate were swept away. Barleytuft saved her from drowning by helping her onto a strange floating piece of Twoleg debris, and together they made it to shore, where they then met up with other cats from all Clans who had been swept away as well.

It was hard to convince Crowstar and especially Rippedsky to let me leave, but they escorted me here, and... through their divine wisdom, StarClan sent a sign to the medicine cat here so that Ashstar, may her soul rest in peace, would accept me. I think she may have seen it as some sort of trade for Rippedsky- Rippedstar's betrayal, long ago. So you see, there's nothing that could ever make me stop believing in StarClan. Lichenmask came through our own folly, not theirs- though even they are not perfect. There's nothing that grizzled, suspicious old Brindlestar could do to make me abandon them, like she has. Pansyface is up there, and Ashstar, and my dear mate Badgerthorn... They would never abandon me, and so I will never abandon them."

Pricklekit - Pricklepaw - Pricklebush

Rank: Medicine Cat

Appearance: An overly large creamy tan-furred tom with big ears. His muzzle is short, and his tail is long and spiky. His eyes are sage-green and frequently narrowed or sarcastic. He is freaking enormous and lives up to his name, with fluffy fur that spikes up all over the place and almost doubles his size. His fur stands on end when he is angry, which is often. You can tell how he is feeling by looking at his tail.

Personality: Pricklebush is a grumpy jerk with a heart of gold. He is prone to sarcasm and mocking others, especially when they seem too dumb to live, and he'll even snap at cats he likes sometimes. He has respect for very few cats, but generally listens to others in authority. Surprisingly for a medicine cat, he loathes StarClan. Even though he originally never wanted to take the job, he takes his position very seriously and takes it personally whenever he fails to heal or cure a Clanmate. He seems disinterested, but is actually very passionate about everything he does. He loves his family- especially his sisters- and would do absolutely anything for them, no questions asked. However, he'll still tell them if they're doing something stupid. He also adores kits. All he wants is safety and peace for his Clan and family, and for Beartooth and StarClan to both stop bothering him- his original life's desire was to be the best warrior in ThunderClan, but his ancestors had other plans.

Life:
Pricklekit was born as part of a large litter to the former leader Blizzardshine, and a deceased father named Artemis who was a rogue. These birth circumstances meant that Prickle grew up not caring about other cats' blood, and believing that it was what you did that counted. He played and tussled with his siblings, and loved his mother- but she had adopted another kit, one that he and his brother Beekit despised. The tom's name was Bearkit, and he had disfigured fangs and extra long claws. However, Pricklekit wasn't put off by the tom's appearance alone- he believed that the smaller tom was inserting himself into a family where he didn't belong, and taking up Blizzardshine's attention. And thus begun a hatred that would last his entire life.

He was apprenticed to a pureblooded she-cat, Snowdrop, who also happened to be one of Lichenmask's followers. She disliked him, and actively tried to make his training as hard and frustrating as possible- but he excelled anyway. Waiting for a patrol, he met a she-cat named Chervilpaw, who he immediately developed a good relationship with. They got along well, and he was starting to really like her, but then she died from natural causes, breaking his heart and leaving him friendless except for his family. While he walked in the forest, trying to sort out his feelings after her death, he came across Bearpaw standing by a river- and his brother Beepaw's lifeless body floating in it. Shocked and horrified, Pricklepaw ran through the possible scenarios, and concluded that Bearpaw must have killed his brother. Or, at least, done nothing while he drowned. He brought his brother's body back to camp and accused Bearpaw in front of Leopardstar and Marshstorm, but to his dismay they came to a different conclusion- Beepaw's drowning was his own fault, though Bearpaw should have brought his body back- and refused to punish him. This only deepened Pricklepaw's resentment, and he was permanently scarred by coming upon his brother's dead body like that.

Pricklepaw fought valiantly in the battle against Lichenmask's army, in which his mentor- fighting for the other side- was killed. He was knocked out easily, due to being an apprentice, and staggered home wounded with the rest of his Clan. When he collapsed into his nest, he was sent a dream, where a StarClan tom called Nightfire brusquely informed him that he had been chosen to be ThunderClan's new medicine cat apprentice. He was horrified- being a medicine cat was the last thing he wanted to do- but Nightfire told him that he had no choice. This experience solidified Pricklepaw's hatred for StarClan, both because of the mess they'd caused with Lichenmask and them forcing him to take on a job that he'd never wanted. However, he woke Leopardstar, went to the Moonstone, and received his new calling, feeling subconsciously as though StarClan must have been manipulating his feelings, because otherwise he would never have agreed to it. As it was, his training started the next day, because ThunderClan had been without a medicine cat for quite a while. At the medicine cat meeting, he and his new mentor Mintwhisker of SkyClan immediately didn't get along well. He didn't quite hit it off with Briarpaw, either. However, he tentatively made friends with the SkyClan medicine cat apprentice, Amberpaw.

The next few moons were a haze of memorizing herbs, taking apprentices on Moonstone journeys, gathering plants, and organizing his den. When Ridgepaw and Beartooth bought him a sick kit that they found in the woods, and she died despite his attempts to heal her, he reached a sort of moral event horizon. He realized that even though he hated his job, he couldn't bear to fail at it, and that innocent cats' lives were at stake. He also realized, somewhat surprisingly, that he had a soft spot for kits, when a she-cat named Ferretkit visited him in his den and they had a surprisingly honest and refreshing conversation.

Finally, after moons of training, Leopardstar took him to get his full medicine cat name- Pricklebush. Just a few days later, the flood hit, and he was the only high position in ThunderClan to not be swept away. He took the remnants of his Clan to Highstones, where they met up with the other leaders and he decided to leave for a safer place with RiverClan and ShadowClan. StarClan sent him a dream, with a memory of being told about the Tribe by his mother Blizzardshine- and so it was there they went.
