The Sun Also Rises (Closed)

The chilly air bit through Snowblossom's thick pelt as she awoke, making her shiver in surprise. Leaf-bare had come faster than she would have liked, almost immediately after the Clans defeated Lichenmask and Shade and their bands. While she was glad that the bloodthirsty rogue would be traversing the forests no more, and that he was no longer a threat to her kits, his murder of Cinderfall hurt her to the core. Then there was Firepaw's death in the battle, and Shellwater's loss to the ever-looming disease greencough. Many cats, such as Hillfire, had also been swayed by Lichenmask's words and then fallen to their own friends' paws. Too many of their Clanmates had been lost recently; the whole forest felt it as well, the pain of losing so many to StarClan, or the Dark Forest. Yet, life went on as normal, albeit with more dark and heavy burdens than most of them could bear. While Snowblossom was strengthened by her friends and family, it was still hard to force herself out of her nest every morning, to continue as if nothing had happened. But she had a duty- to Sunpaw, her apprentice. The she-cat needed training, and she would give it to her. Even though she had never been a fan of battling, if the she-cat was to learn to defend himself, she would have to teach her to use her claws.

Shuddering, the fluffy white she-cat forced herself to stand up and step out of her warm, comfortable nest, smiling over at where Flurryshine, her daughter and the apprentice's mother, slept next to her mate. How did she deserve such amazing family? Her pelt blended into the white background of camp as she stepped out into the frost-covered clearing, peering into the apprentices' den where the she-cat she looked for slept. "Sunpaw, it's time for training," she whispered as she found her sleeping form. She looked so young and innocent... it was hard to look at her and know of the terrors that had befallen RiverClan the past two moons. She went back out into the camp, shivering against the cold, and waited by the camp entrance for her apprentice.

Sunpaw is a girl, don't worry her brother gets called a girl alot lamo.



Sunpaw blinked open her eyes. "Wha?" She looked around and her blurry vision cleared to reveal Snowblossom. "Oh training!" She jumped up and dashed to Snowblossom, bits of feathers flew with her. She skidded to a stop and her mentors paws. "Can we go fight some bad guys?!" She asked and gave a little excited bounce.

Snowblossom blinked in surprise at Sunpaw's enthusiasm, and then a smile overtook her face. She was irresistibly reminded of her kits when they were young, and of her own siblings as well. She'd never been enthusiastic to fight, but that was apparently just her. "No, you need to train first," the warrior purred, green eyes bright as she gazed at the apprentice. "Then, you'll be prepared to deal with whatever WindClan or ThunderClan cats dare to challenge you. Now, what have you learned so far? Have you trained with anyone else?"

WOAH I NEVER REPLIED

"Well.. Whenever Sootpaw comes back from training he always tells me about what he has leanred and stuff!"

"So, not that much," Snowblossom chuckled. She shook out her fluffy pelt, and flicked her tail. "Follow me, Sunpaw." The warrior strode a little ways out of camp, finding a secluded spot near the beech trees where the two of them could train undisturbed. Even though she personally despised battling, she knew that it was important for cats to learn to defend themselves. Even though Shade was dead... she suppressed a shudder at the thought of that murderer... there would always be cats like him in the shadows, waiting to strike. Sunpaw had to be ready to fight them, and defend herself and her Clan. When they reached a nice, mossy spot, Snowblossom stopped. "Okay. Now, I'm going to teach you some basic battling moves. But remember to never use claws on another cat unless you're defending RiverClan, all right, Sunpaw? We aren't battle-hungry cats like ThunderClan, and we need to keep it that way."

"Okay." She said calmly. She smiled. Then he laucnhed! She jumped on her mentors shoulders and kicked out her paws. "The element of suprise!" She giggled. "Sootpaw taught me that one."

Snowblossom fell to the ground with a surprised "oof" as her apprentice leapt onto her and flattened her. Now that, she had not been expecting. She was the one who was supposed to be teaching here, wasn't she? The warrior got back on her paws and shook out her pelt, mildly disgruntled. "Yes, it's good that you know that. But maybe don't attack your Clanmates, okay? I can't very well teach you from down there."
