Feelings Come Forward [CLOSED]

Lionpaw paced, fur quite fluffed out from the cooler breeze coming through camp. Leaf-bare would soon be upon them, if only the sun would come back. It might make things quite a bit warmer. He didn't care though, it was the shorter-furred cats he worried about. He was due to become a warrior soon, therefore he had grown nearly to his full size. He was pretty big for a Windclanner, and towered over some other apprentices. Actually speaking of apprentices he was searching the clearing for her dappled pelt. He needed to tell her something that he had been thinking for quite some time now.

"Hey, Lionpaw!" a harmonious, youthful voice chirped. Consistent thumps thudded on the dim, unlit ground, as the apprentice jovially trotted to her friend. Her radient expression plainly indicated that she was breezily impervious to the dark situation that had menaced all the Clans. The murkiness of the uninviting, concealed sky was simply a puny leaf whipping in Mosspaw's never-ceasing breeze of glee. Like a leaf blowing helplessly, as her gust of positivity overcame it.
As if the eclipse would willingly vanish if her optimism illuminated the sky.
And that optimism would increase as she chatted with Lionpaw. Mosspaw had been unaware that he had been scanning for her pelt, and she flashed a merry grin at her friend.

Friend. She liked friends.
How blissful it would be if a friendship could be more.
If only..

The rather large tom padded quickly towards his fellow, fluffy clanmate. He had attempted to look a bit more formal by smoothing down his fur, a quick gust of wind to his back undid his work immediately. Mosspaw was seemingly unbothered by the absence of the sun and moon.
So optimistic... He wished he could be more like that. The stars seemed gone, and that was deeply unsettling to him personally. He had to get his mind off of that, there was something he needed to ask her.

"Mosspaw..." He trailed off unintentionally. Flicking his ears at his sudden hesitation, and slightly annoyed at himself, he blurted out "Ithinkweshouldbemates" quite quickly. His ears flattened in slight embarrassment, and his golden eyes averted hers for the time being. He just felt so awkward saying it, but those were his feelings.

Blinking light-heartedly, still wearing an affectionally vivacious smile, Mosspaw once again absently tilted her head as her friend's voice diminished. "Yeah..?" she lightly prompted, oblivious to the reluctance that streaked Lionpaw's tone. Swinging her tail in an animated manner, the tortoiseshell swayed with perky joy. Ooh, was he building up anticipation? That was always an effective way to make Mosspaw exceedingly keen on what the news was.
What was it?

"Ithinkweshouldbemates."

The words had come out as a hasty splutter, and for a few heartbeats there was uneasy silence. Although she had spotted Lionpaw's tense eyes darting away from hers, her tilted, furrowed face clearly indicated that she was still trying to determine what he had actually said. Mosspaw was attempting to pull out the words from the slurred sentence, just because it had been said so swiftly.
'I think - we - should - be -'

'-mates.'
An exuberent, thrilled gasp was the only sound she made before launching herself around him, in ecstatic bounces. Everything was taut with extreme jubilation as the over-excited apprentice bounded in tight circles around the tom.

He looked up in surprise as Mosspaw bounded around him excitedly. He probably should've expected this reaction. He smiled at her, "Yeah, really.". His words came out in a purr, quite pleased that she was so ecstatic. "Us two fluffy cats should stick together! And I think that we would be a really nice couple." The cream furred tom sat still, watching the continued bouncing. He assumed she would say yes, after all, he was one of the strongest apprentices in the clan! Why would she refuse?

Not a single trace of embarrassment tinged her instantaneous response. At last, Mosspaw halted her animated bounds to gaze with quite a lot of spirit into Lionpaw's eyes. She felt as if the dazzling sun had returned, to beam down at them. Or, because that really didn't happen, her eyes could resemble the sun, with their extreme, lustrous glistening.
Her rapturous expression clearly displayed how jubilant she was that her friend had announced such wonderful news.

Oh, wait, no.
They were more than friends now.
And she couldn't be happier that they were.
