Love the Danger {Closed}

On a particular afternoon, a ball of white fluff hurtled through the undergrowth and came crashing out unto the ThunderClan side of the river. This disturber of the peace was none other than Hailpaw, one of Blizzardshine's kits who was seldom up to anything good. Bounding unto the gravelly shore, the stocky apprentice finally paused for breath. Despite all the nearby prey that her racket was sure to have chased away, she appeared completely unruffled. The fluffy she-cat had just been running through the forest. Yet again, Leafstorm had left her alone. While some apprentices might have rejoiced at a break from training, Hailpaw was not one of them. She thrived when she had a physical activity to do. She was eager to learn more battle moves, but her mentor did not seem to understand their importance like she did. At the very least, he wasn't teaching her as much as she wanted to know. It was quite disappointing, really. The feel of the wind in her fur, ruffling her whiskers as she ran, had been just what she needed to cheer up. Her yellow gaze swung to the dark sky overhead. "What a beautiful day!" She exclaimed cheerfully.

Before Hailpaw knew it, her paws had carried her to the river bank. What had directed them here? Perhaps it was the old memory of exploring the Sunningrocks with Ridgepaw. She had been wanting to visit this place again. There they were, the familiar rocks just a little distance away. A quick glance left and right revealed that no other cat was present. Slowly, a mischievous grin spread across Hailpaw's face. No one would ever know if she didn't get caught. Without any hesitation in the slightest, she approached the Sunningrocks. When her paw made contact with the rock's smooth surface, she jumped with a start. "Cold!" She sputtered, "They're really cold!" They were completely different from the last time she had been here. But why? Was it because of the lack of sunlight? The sun was still there; it just wasn't shining! Warily, she climbed unto the rocks. What was with the strange temperature difference?

'Cold!' The shout came from Sunningrocks. It sounded somewhat high pitched, like surprise. But you never know, it could be a damsel in distress soaking wet and ready to be saved. He bounded over, swam across the river(which was, admittedly, pretty cold) and leapt up on the cool rocks. There was... A Thunderclan apprentice? He grinned and sauntered over to her, with goofy grin. "And who might this pretty lady be, standing on Riverclan rocks?" He said it somewhat passive-agressively. He wanted her to get off, but he still wanted to talk.

"No one would ever know if she didn't get caught."

Apparently the most important part of her plan had already failed. A RiverClan cat just had to stumble upon Sunningrocks right then. Come to think of it, the same thing had happened the last time. This RiverClanner was a young tom with a tricolor tabby pelt. Judging from his size, he was still an apprentice. Hailpaw sat patiently on the highest rock while he bounded over, slipped into the river, and swam over. While she could easily have run away during the time it took him to arrive, she chose to stay. Now that she had been discovered, she might as well face him head on. When he had finally pulled himself unto the Sunningrocks, she greeted him with a crooked grin. Now then, faced with a trespasser, how would he react? She waited in expectation to hear what he would say, but his words were more surprising than she had expected them to be. Pretty lady? Was he referring to her...? Unable to help herself, she let a chuckle slip. The fluffy she-cat stood, and in the most dramatic voice she could muster, she announced, "I'm Hailpaw of ThunderClan, and it'll do you well to remember that name!"

In the next moment, a clawed paw had connected with the side of Firepaw's head. It belonged to the stocky she-cat across from him. Hailpaw grinned widely, her bright yellow eyes meeting the other apprentice's heterochromatic ones. "Yeah," She stated casually, "I'm on RiverClan's rocks. What are you going to do about it?"

Hailpaw used Front Paw Strike, dealing 6 damage and costing 10 stamina.

Firepaw grinned, purring. "Well then, it's nice to meet you, Hailpa-" He was cut off by claws to the face. The tom let off a small gasp, then put on a mischevious smile. "I'll drive you off, that's what!" He felt a vibe of playfulness. Hopefully neither of them would end up with hard feelings. So he tackled her and shallowly clawed at her belly.

Despite taking a sharp blow to the face, Firepaw remained unshaken. Hailpaw was surprised to see the grin on his face and hear the playfulness in his tone. He was quick to retaliate; in the next moment, he had tackled her to the ground. Hailpaw let out an "oof" of discomfort as her shoulder collided with the rock. The tabby tom's claws tore shallow wounds across her underside. Gritting her teeth against the pain, the white apprentice pulled her hind legs up beneath Firepaw. A burst of energy surged through her limbs, and she subsequently kicked him off. Grinning, she bounced up unto all fours again. "Try it, then!" She declared cockily. A challenge flashed in her bright eyes.

Hailpaw could feel the adrenaline burning in her blood. The familiar thrill of excitement had ignited in her heart. This was it--this sensation was what a fight was all about. Firepaw did not seem particularly hostile. He was certainly an interesting one. With a cat like him for her opponent, she was sure that she could enjoy this fight. Stepping in quickly, the fluffy she-cat closed the distance between the two of them. As she narrowly avoided another blow, she bit down on Firepaw's tail and yanked sharply.

Firepaw grinned. "I think I wi-" He was cut off with a yelp of surpise as his tail was yanked. "At least let me finish a sentence!" The tom shook out his tail, trying to get it feeling normal again.

Thrown off balance by Hailpaw's unexpected actions, Firepaw stumbled. In the time that it took him to recover, the young she-cat seized her chance. Talking had already cost him several times, but he didn't seem to realize his mistake yet. The last sentence had barely left his mouth when the ThunderClan apprentice rammed into him with full force, slamming him down against the rocks. "You're quite the interesting guy, you know?" She remarked, "You should spend more time talking. While you do so, I can go ahead and attack you. Can't you make this any harder?" Firepaw had not flown quite as far as she had expected him to, which was somewhat disappointing.

Firepaw leaped to his paws and pinned Hailpaw. "You're beginning to annoy me." He growled. If she didn't want to play nice, he'd play mean. She brought it on herself.

"You're not the first one to say that." Hailpaw stated casually, even as pain from Firepaw's claws sparked through her pelt. "That reaction is what I love, though." In reality, she was quite frustrated that the RiverClan apprentice had succeeded in pinning her down. Both of them were bearing serious injuries by now. The fight would not last much longer. As much as she loved to fight, losing was also unbearable vexing. If he thought that she would lie there quietly, he was sorely mistaken. Snarling, she thrashed wildly beneath Firepaw. Her unsheathed claws scrabbled against the surface of the Sunningrocks.

Firepaw blinked, eyes narrowed in trying to keep her down. "Rudeness will never get you anywhere." He growled, pressing in harder. "I was willing to fight in good heart, but no longer." He could feel himself slipping, so using his back legs(kicking her in the process) he leaped down from her back, turning into a battle position.

Firepaw continued to use Leap and Hold, dealing 6 damage and using 10 stamina. Hailpaw is no longer pinned.

Firepaw's strength was waning, and Hailpaw could feel it. Despite their different genders, the two cats were about equal in size. The tricolor tabby could not hold her down for much longer. It seemed that he recognized that fact as well, for he eventually released her. His kick sent her stumbling, but the stocky she-cat was quicker to recover than Firepaw could attack again. Whirling around, she faced him with a sharp glare. Her wounds were burning with pain; even standing was becoming difficult. By now, her once white pelt was stained deeply with red. She had to finish things. She would win this battle no matter what. This time, she declined to answer the other apprentice. Firepaw was already in a battle stance, expecting her next move. Summoning the last of her strength, she charged him yet again. Large paws flew over the rock. With a grunt, she slammed into him. Both tumbled violently to the ground. After a pause, the ThunderClan apprentice finally staggered up. The world swayed before her eyes, her paws struggling to keep her standing. But she had won. "Feel like surrendering yet?" She asked, a tired yet triumphant smirk adorning her maw.

Firepaw nodded and sat up slightly. "Yeah, actually, I do. Just gonna say though, trespassing's against the warrior code. Try not to do it again." As he said this, he stood completely. At the end of his sentence, the tom winked and whirled around to leave, dashing away to get some cobwebs from Fallowpaw.
