Old Role-playing Sample/s

"No, Honeykit, it's okay, you can be the medicine cat. I'm not too disappointed." she mewed, trying to convince her littermate it was okay. She watched as Honeykit padded to get something from the fresh-kill pile and took a nap in her favourite spot. Ravenkit joined, too. Her littermates had both fallen asleep. Leafkit purred as she gazed at them from the nursery entrance. She sat and started to groom herself, but stopped as she heard squeaks and squeals. Leafkit rapidly glanced upwards and saw her littermates having a play-fight. Her eyes watched in interest as the two of them tumbled and rolled. Then, Ravenkit broke free from Honeykit and dashed towards the elders den, but then stopped abruptly. What's that scent..? Leafkit wondered as a new smell drifted around camp. She sensed that her sibling had noticed it, too, and that was probably the reason she had stopped. She gazed around curiously, trying to figure out where the scent was coming from, then she saw it. A kit, who she'd never seen before. An intruder! Leafkit backed away from the entrance and into the shadows of the nursery, somewhat frightened. The intruder was just a kit, but he or she could be able to fight. She watched silently as Ravenkit came back into the nursery as her father called her back. She could hear Honeykit outside shrieking there was an intruder. Leafkit's hackles rose when the newcomer entered the nursery. Firestar came behind the kit and talked to her. The intruder kept responding rudely and with no respect to the ThunderClan leader. Nobody seemed to notice Leafkit, who was still waiting in the shadows silently. The intruder left after staring at Firestar for a bit. Sighing and feeling safe again, Leafkit stepped out of the shadows, hoping she didn't surprise the others with her sudden appearance.

Fun Fact: The characters in here greatly inspired two of my characters - you can tell by their prefix ;)

Featherlily watched, amused, as Cedarkit jumped playfully on Aspenkit, who was staring at a patrol that had just arrived and seemed to be deep in thought. Aspenkit's silver tail fluffed up and her green eyes streched wide in surprise as the two toppled over. Cloudkit bounded over to join with her littermates.
"Hey! Cedarkit, you gave me a scare!" Aspenkit wailed, "I told you before I don't like you sneaking up on me!"
"But it's fun! Why don't you ever want to play?" Cedarkit asked, tilting his head.
"Cedarkit's right, Aspenkit. It's great to play once in a while. All you ever seem to do is sit and stare at something!" Cloudkit mewed. Aspenkit looked away angrily. Featherlily padded over to her kits, not wanting a fight.
"Cedarkit, Cloudkit, please let Aspenkit do what she wants. She doesn't have to do anything she doesn't want to do," turning to Aspenkit, she continued, " On the other hand, your littermates may have a point. It is pretty fun to play with others. This is just a suggestion, you can do what you want to do. "
Aspenkit turned to her mother and saw emphathy and kindness in her eyes. Slowly, she let her fur lie flat, and nodded slowly. "Okay, I'll give playing a go..."
Featherlily purred happily, "That's fantastic! I'll leave you to play now."

Featherlily sat down silently a few fox lengths away from her kits to watch them play. She was just observing Cloudkit's play-fighting techique when, from the corner of her eye, she saw Flamepaw walking over to them. She purred quietly and stood up, then padded over to the apprentice.
"Hello, Flamepaw! How are you?"

Aspenkit nimbly dodged Cloudkit when she launched herself at her. Featherlily was right, it was pretty fun to play a game once in a while. The good thing about this game, was that it was a play-fighting one, so Aspenkit was having fun while practicing fighting moves for when she's apprenticed at the same time. Cloudkit had fallen onto the floor, since Aspenkit had swerved away from her.
"Wow, Aspenkit, you're fast! I didn't think you could have dodged me!" Cloudkit panted, getting up.
Thanks Cloudki-" Aspenkit was interrupted when Cedarkit jumped at her. She gasped in shock as the two rolled over on the ground, Aspenkit on her back with Cedarkit pinning her down. She tryed to battle back, using her hindlegs to try to push her brown littermate off, but not too hard so that she would hurt him. Her attempt to push him off failed, and Cedarkit opened his jaws to yowl triumphantly, "Ha! I've got you!"
"Alright, alright. You got me. Now, could you please get off so I can stand?"
"Okay, fine." Cedarkit released his hold on his sister, then Aspenkit gazed at him mischieviously. She crouched down and jumped at Cedarkit. Her plan had worked! Cedarkit wasn't expecting her to launch at him after he had released her. So, Aspenkit was now the one pinning Cedarkit down.
"Hey! You tricked me!" Cedarkit mewed, but sounded amused, "You're smart, Aspenkit!"
"Thanks!" Aspenkit replied. She let go then looked up. She saw Flamepaw padding over. Flicking her tail in joy, she called to her littermates, "Cedarkit, Cloudkit! Flamepaw's here!"
In a few heartbeats, the trio were beside Featherlily and looked excitedly at the medicine cat apprentice.

Cedarkit turned to see Willowkit coming out of the nursery. "Hello! Sure, you can play! Where's Flowerkit?" Cedarkit mewed, "Oh, wait, she's probably still inside the nursery, isn't she? Now that I think of it, you and Flowerkit have a lot in common, Aspenkit. Why don't you go and try to persuade her to come? Featherlily persuaded you to play a game not so long ago, maybe you can tell Flowerkit how great it is to play a game once in a while!" Cedarkit turned to Aspenkit before looking back at Willowkit. "I don't get why some cats don't like playing with others."

Aspenkit nodded at Cedarkit, who seemed to be asking her and Cloudkit for their agreement to play Hide and Seek. A few heartbeats later, Aspenkit heard some scuffling in the grass behind her, and turned her head to see Willowkit running out of the nursery. She listened silently to Cedarkit as he started talking, and her ears turned upwards as her name was mentioned.
"-have a lot in common, Aspenkit. Why don't you go and try to persuade her to come?" Cedarkit was meowing. Aspenkit whipped her head towards him.
"Um... are you su-" she started to say, but Cedarkit seemed to be so focused on what he was saying that he didn't hear her. Aspenkit waited impatiently for him to finish talking, and groaned inwardly as Cedarkit complained, "I don't get why some cats don't like playing with others."
"Well, some cats have different opinions, Cedarkit," Aspenkit retorted, "And are you sure that I should try to persuade Flowerkit? I think I'm pretty bad at persuading..."
After some talking, Aspenkit finally agreed to try to get Flowerkit to come. She walked inside the nursery to find Flowerkit.
"Hey, Flowerkit. My littermates wanted me to come here to ask if you wanted to come. You know, to play?" Aspenkit asked uncertainly, "I didn't want to play either earlier, but Featherlily persuaded me to try, and it's really fun." she paused for a moment, waiting for a reply.

Fun Fact: Willowkit was Featherpaw's original name, and Dapplekit was Mosspas's original name. =)

Willowkit woke as sunlight poured into the nursery. She stretched her mouth wide in a yawn and looked around for her sister. Dapplekit was basically the only kit Willowkit played with, as she felt more comfortable around her kin then others. Where could Dapplekit have gone? she wondered as she realised her tender-hearted littermate was no where to be seen within the nursery walls. I guess I should look for her. After all, there's no one else I really want to play with. So the silver kit padded quietly from her mother out into the cool camp.

A calico kit emerged from the elder's den, her eyes wide with joy. Dapplekit loved listening to the elder's adventures, and she longed to be in one, too. As she bounded across the camp, she spotted Willowkit padding out of the nursery, looking like she was looking for something.
"Willowkit! Willowkit! I'm here!" she called as she neared her littermate. The silver tabby looked happier when she saw her sister. In a few heartbeats, Willowkit was standing in front of Dapplekit with a relaxed expression and her tail curled up.
"There you are," she purred, "I was looking for you."
