The Overambitious Kitty(open to Regime)

The multi colored red kitten poked her head out from where her mother kept her and her three siblings. Xuexi being one of the biggest of the 4 kitten flicked her white tail tip wanting something fun or entertaining to do. Her Amber gaze now a bit more Amber then blue took in the sights. Her white paws hit the ground one step at a time before she spotted something to play. It was shiny to the bloody colored kitten and that was enough to sent the kit launching forward and swatting the metal object(coke can) sending it to a cat nearby hitting them. The she kit couldn't see who they were at first as they turned to face her. She puffed out her fur spiking out slightly as she looked to the cat"What you gonna cry over a small accident? Fight Me!"She squeaked out.

(OOC: I’m gonna go ahead and have Shade make Xuexi his apprentice here if you don’t mind X3)

Shade felt the shiny red thing land on his back. At first, he was startled, but he quickly turned angry at the thought of someone trying to mess with him. He whipped around, hackles raised and releasing a fierce, intimidating yowl, and it took him a few moments to recognize his own kit before him. His fur lay flat along his back, knowing there wasn’t any real trouble. He narrowed his eyes sternly at Xuexi. ”Would you care to tell me why you flung that thing at me? There was barely any force behind it. You desperately need training. I will not be the father of weak kits.”

Xuexi blinked looking up at her father surprised for a moment before she bushed her fur up more trying to be intimidating as much as possibly"well what if I wasn't trying"She squeaked her Amber eyes shining. A challenging glint in her eyes.but also admiration for the tom before her. She left her fur bushed up as her gaze moved to the red can and with as much effort as she could she wanted it hard sending it flying before she looked to her father again."See I can do it"She mewed.

Shade snorted and narrowed his eyes at his daughter. "You can't be telling me that's the best you can do. Even for a kit your age, you should be able to hit it harder than that." He approached the can where Xuexi had sent it flying and rolled it back over beside her. Then, raising a paw and unsheathing his claws, he thwacked it so hard it was sent flying across the clearing, not clanging to the ground until it reached the silver Twoleg containers that contained scraps of Twoleg fresh-kill on the other side.

Xuexi seemed to blink for a moment her gaze watching with interest as he brought the .can over and showed her that she could have done better. Her fur flattened slightly before she looked up at Shade. She then looked to where the can had landed. She would either have to go all the way across the clearing to the can or find a new one but her small tail lashes in slight agrivation at him telling her she could have hit it that far."but your bigger then me I couldn't have hit it that far"She mewed more in a slight anger rather then a whiny voice."there must be a trick to it show me!"She demanded her tail flicking.

Canren watched his father and sister through a bored gaze. Why would he teach her fighting, this group of cats was always in need of prey. All his father seemed to think about was fighting sometimes! It was getting annoying. From what he'd heard from his father in the short time he'd been alive, the clans over in the forest were bad. But because he was a clan cat he could fight better. If the clans could fight better, they could keep their territory and their prey. He didn't understand why that didn't make sense. You fight for the prey, you feed the cats in the clan. It's like a big extended family! He watched Shade bat the can all the way back to the two-leg container. His father was strong, maybe that's why Xuexi liked him so much. He wanted to be strong, but must there always be fighting? He was getting bigger and was beginning to think of things by himself. He couldn't fathom why his father would want to leave the clans anyway. A reliable source of food, cats protecting you, and little in-fighting? That didn't sound like selfishness, that sounded like cats just wanting to make the best world for each other.

The tabby tom stood up and poked his head out. Over time, he had noticed how much his father and himself looked alike. He leaped down and padded over to his sister. Sometimes he felt short compared to the older cats, but it was only a matter of time until he himself would be that tall! Or at least almost. "Xuexi!" he exclaimed, "Do you want to see who can get to the shiny thing first?" This would surely be fun! It wasn't fighting either. Sure he wouldn't mind learning how to fight, but maybe talking was... better?

Shade gave a soft snort of approval. He was glad his only daughter was showing such an interest in training how to battle. "Well, I have to admit, I was feeling a little bored having all this potential to fight with no one to share it with. It's been a while since I've last mentored a cat, so I shall train you."

Another voice caught the rogue's attention, and he turned his head to see who he dubbed his softest kit Canren racing up to his sister. His ear flicked with annoyance, and his tail gave an irritated twitch. Did his own son really think now was a time for playing, when there was training to be had? He brushed Canren off to the side with his tail, then stepped between the two littermates to glare down at him. "Xuexi's busy at the moment, and she'll remain busy for quite a while. So you can either join us, or you can take your meaningless antics elsewhere." He knew he was being stern and perhaps a bit unfair, but he was not going to be the father of soft, weak, Clan-loving kits.

Turning back to Xuexi, he lifted a paw and unsheathed his claws. "Let's start with building speed and reflex for your attacks. You need to be able to retreat quickly after dealing a blow so your opponent won't get the chance to strike on any openings you leave. Swipe out in front of you as fast as you can, then retreat back into a defensive crouch." To demonstrate, Shade lashed out his paw with such speed that caused the wind at the she-kit's face to stir up a small gust. He retracted his paw as quickly as he had swiped it, falling back into the traditional fighting stance. "Now, you try."

Xuexi remained quiet for a moment as she heard a small snort of approval from her father and her white tail tip flicked half happily at that before she blinked hearing his words about training her. Her gaze widened eagerly"Yes!"She squeaked her tail held high before her Amber gaze moved to her smaller brother as he came over."Hey Can-"She fell quiet as her father intervened and tried to shu off her brother"sorry"Xuexi mouthed to her brother before she flicked her tail looking to her father. She watched with intense interest as if almost instantly he started her training showing her a move. The air around he face moved her fur slightly. Blinking she focused putting what she seen into action hoping she could do it as well. She shot out a paw before trying to pull it back swiftly. She then looked to her father hoping that was how it was supposed to go

Shade gave a brief nod. "Not a bad first attempt. Now loosen all your muscles and try again. You need to be limber and loose so you can strike fast and dodge quickly."

She blinked hearing what he said and nodded"ok"she mewed firmly before she struck out quickly loosening her muscles before she pulled back quickly

"Much better," Shade purred lowly. He took a few steps backward and crouched into an attack position. "Now... I want you to attack me. Give it everything that you've got!"

(OOC: I figured that, at least going by when this topic was made, since it hasn't been a week yet since Xuexi was born she would still use the one kit move, Front Paw Blow. But if we make another training topic she'll be apprentice-aged, so then she can use apprentice-based moves, and after one month of that she'll be able to use Default Rogue moves, which would be up to Young Warrior moves. ...If that makes sense. XD)

Xuexi blinked for a long moment before she braced herself and ran at her father before swiping out her paw as quick as she could and with as much force as she could muster.

(Are we using the battle system just curious))

Quick as lightning, the rogue leaped to the side in a dodge. "Don't expect cats to just stand there and let you attack them. Your eyes betrayed what you would do next. You have to stay expressionless, and you have to be clever. Like this." He crouched again, shifting his weight to the right, eyes focused on hers, but when he ran up to her he suddenly shifted to the left where he was sure Xuexi would dodge to, slamming into her with his chest. She flew back and tumbled, but he didn't do nearly enough damage to actually hurt her. "Just like that. Make your opponent think you'll do one thing, then at the last second do something they would never expect to give yourself the upper paw."

The reddish she cat blinked as she was sent backwards. not enough to hurt her but enough to send her sprawling. shaking her head she got back to her paws quietly.  She flicked her ear as she listened "alright got it"She mewed making sure to keep note of what he said. She nodded quietly"do you want me to try again?"She mewed.

Shade nodded, crouching down again. "Remember what I just taught you. Now come and attack me!"
