Plentiful Prey {CLOSED}

Since her regrettable encounter with Shade, Featherpaw had felt a burning desire to assist her clan more. The apprentice believed that she had wasted herbs and had caused anxiety and dread throughout the clan. She remembered the expressions of her clanmates - her father seemed horrified, her mentor seemed stunned and terror-stricken, and Streampaw, who was on the patrol that discovered her and had done thoughtful, kind actions towards her lately, had seemed troubled and disturbed.
A shudder gushed through her, as she recalled the panic when she was briskly brought into camp. The distraught yowls rang in her head, and she shook her head rapidly to rid the memories. Fortunately, and she was incredibly grateful for it, the tabby had healed, and now all that remained were the tendril-thin scars on her face and belly. Featherpaw felt that she needed to repay her clan for their care during the time she was heavily wounded, so she had decided to go on a patrol. Her eyes skimmed the camp, and she spotted three warriors who seemed available, and an apprentice. Jaystar clearly declared that one warrior needs to accompany each apprentice, and what's the harm in inviting another warrior? Shade's threat is still painfully alive, so in case he discovers us, we'll be ready to defend each other.
She realized with a sharp sting that two of the warriors she was about to ask to join the patrol had also been attacked by the wicked rogue.
The scarred she-cat hesitantly padded up to her clanmates - Heronflight, Cinderfall, Spotfur and Flamepaw. She smiled bashfully as an unspoken greeting, and met their gazes, her tail swishing gently.
"H-hi.. I was w-wondering if you w-want to go on a - erm - hunting patrol?" she mumbled, head tilting slightly. She hoped they would agree, and that they would be able to catch lots of prey, undisturbed.

Spotfur nodded and nuzzled his daughter. "Sure! I'd love to." "I'm up for it as well."

Flamepaw blinked and smiled. Nobody in this patrol was particularly mean to her. "Uh- yeah! Sure! Okay, yeah, I'll come."

Heronflight nodded. ”Sure, I’m always up for a hunt,” he said to Featherpaw.

Affectionally nuzzling her father back, Featherpaw retracted and beamed faintly. She was glad that everyone had agreed.
Gently flicking her tail to gesture towards outside camp, the apprentice strided with specified steps to the river defending her home. The blue tabby treaded lightly on some dried, scorched reeds as she reached the mass of flowing water. Featherpaw dipped her pads confidently into the stream, and glided across, her paws swishing vigorously. Embracing the cool ripples, Featherpaw lifted herself out, her long pelt dripping. After getting assured the others had made their way across, the apprentice smiled and continued padding on.
Having reached the reedy territory, the she-cat continued trotting towards the river, the essential and main source for RiverClan's prey. When they arrived, she glanced quickly at the others, not wanting to rush off irresponsibly without a warrior's permission.

Spotfur nodded. "We'll want to spread out."

Featherpaw nodded faintly back, and trotted towards the riverbank. She crouched, eyes flashing with a understandable determination, the reeds brushing her striped pelt. She swiftly scanned the rippling stream, observing the gentle-flowing current. The clear water revealed two fish, and the apprentice decided to aim for the one closest to the edge. It was a minnow - her favourite type of prey.
Making sure to not cast a shadow, Featherpaw narrowed her eyes in concentration, and studied the fish unsteadily bolting everywhere. She had to catch this.
Her paw darted out, claws unsheathed, and swooped the minnow out of the river. She laid it lightly on the grass, and finished it with a swift bite, wanting to end its pain. She gently pushed it out of the way, and returned her gaze to the rushing stream. She inspected the remaining prey, crouching closely to the ground. One fish caught, another one to catch..

(8) Spotfur hissed under his breath as he splashed into the water trying to catch a fish. He looked around to see that Flamepaw and Cinderfall had caught their fish, but him? He had splashed into his stream. Soaking wet and shamed, he dragged himself out and went somewhere else.

Heronflight peered into the water, very careful to no cast a shadow that would scare a fish.  Soon, he saw a green, lumpy toad hop from one lily pad to another.  The gray tabby crouched and snuck up to the toad.  Soon, he pounced, his claws unsheathing.  However, before he could attack the toad, a brown feather drifted from the sky.  Eagle.  He somehow got his claws on the winged beast, and raked it furiously.  "Spotfur!" he yowled.  "There's an eagle! Protect the apprentices!"

Heronflight used Belly Rake on Eagle, dealing 12 damage and costing 10 stamina.

Splash.
The sudden sound caused Featherpaw to jerk abruptly backwards, her head whipping around with an alarmed dismay. Her widened eyes darting everywhere with afraid apprehension, she caught sight of her Father had fallen unintentionally into his stream. She was about to hasten to Spotfur to support him, but he already appeared to be doing well. Briefly smiling, she returned her gaze to her fishing spot. The other fish had disappeared. Perhaps the splatter had alerted her prey, too. Blinking, abandoning the thought, Featherpaw shuffled to another area, catching sight of a shimmering gleam. The scales of another fish - a large trout.
Before she could prepare herself to catch the fish, a sizeable shadow that didn't belong to her hovered above her stream. The trout, daunted by the sudden darkness, shot down the current. Featherpaw, startled, tensely glanced up the see the source of the shadow.
An eagle.
Squeaking with dread, the apprentice withdrew back, bristling with fright. Her breathing laboured with terror, she glanced back to see Cinderfall, Spotfur and Flamepaw. Then directing her sight towards the eagle, she studied the colossal monster. Heronflight seemed to be dealing with it quite well, but Featherpaw couldn't stand back, paralysed, and watch her clanmates fight it by themselves.
No, she couldn't.
Not like before with Shade.

Inaudiblely hissing, she launched herself at the bird, now weighted with a warrior clinging onto it. The tabby slashed at its face, aiming at its eyes, before landing back down. They had to defeat this beast!
