Cloverpaw's Warrior Ceremony

With a single strong leap, Leopardstar landed gracefully on the peak of the Highrock and turned quickly to call out to the clan. "Let all cats old enough to catch their own prey gather beneath the Highrock for a clan meeting!" A proud smile managed to sneak its way onto the golden spotted tom's face for the first time in many days; amidst the chaos caused by Wildfire's death and Sharptooth's betrayal, a warrior ceremony was a very welcome change of pace. He could only pray though that this new warrior would be more loyal than her predecessors...

Cloverpaw strode out of the apprentice's den with a nose twitch. She was curious to find out what this meeting was about so she instantly sat down and looked up at the leader. Hey claws sunk into the ground in anticipation. She really, really hoped this was her warrior ceremony. She worked really hard to earn her full name. Besides, her good 'ole friend Palestripe, back then Palepaw, had been a warrior for a while. She was eager to join him in the warrior's den!

Once most of the clan had emerged from their dens and seated themselves - including the cat of honor - Leopardstar yowled for the meeting to begin.  "Cats of ThunderClan, today it is time to admit yet another of our young cats into the ranks of a warrior.  Before her mentor Wisteriapool's untimely disappearance, we had conferred and agreed that this apprentice is ready to take this step."  His eyes sought out those of the young she-cat of whom he spoke, and met them as he meowed with a smile; "Cloverpaw, please step forward."

Forest green eyes went wide as her name was called. Young Cloverpaw got up and stepped forward as she had been previously instructed to do. The apprentice held her chin up and puffed out her chest. Her eyes sparkled with pride and excitement as she waited for Leopardstar to continue the ceremony.

Leopardstar watched proudly as Cloverpaw made her way to the front of the crowd, her excitement clearly not trying to be disguised.  He did not keep her waiting long; as soon as she came to a halt, the leader lifted his hazel eyes up to the bright late-green leaf sky and began to speak.  "I, Leopardstar, leader of ThunderClan, call upon my warrior ancestors to look down on this apprentice.  She has trained hard to understand the ways of your noble code, and I commend her to you as a warrior in her turn.  Cloverpaw, do you promise to uphold the warrior code and to protect and defend your Clan, even at the cost of your life?"

The apprentice gave a firm nod before speaking, "I do!" She wouldn't let her clan down! Thunderclan wouldn't be disappointed in her! She gave the leader a smile as she waited for him to end the ceremony.

"Then by the powers of StarClan, I give you your warrior name.  Cloverpaw, from this moment on you will be known as Cloverleaf.  StarClan honors your optimism and courage, and we welcome you as a full warrior of ThunderClan."  Leaping down from the Highrock, Leopardstar approached the newly-named Cloverleaf and rested his muzzle on top of her head, completing the ceremony.  As the clan began to cheer her new name, he stepped away and cheered along with them, his eyes glowing dimly.  I hope that oath rings true.
