a small dapple looking for friends~ [open!]

Dapplekit stretched her paws out in front of her, her tiny mouth stretched into a wide yawn. This was it! Today was the day she would finally get to leave the nursery and explore the camp. The small tortoiseshell kit could barely contain her excitement, but she also felt gripped by a tad bit of nervousness. Taking a tentative step from the nursery's entrance into the clearing, Dapplekit basked in the warmth of sunlight. Her amber eyes darted across the camp, searching for anyone she might play with.

Lilykit looked up from her little corner. She saw a slightly bigger kit burst out of the nursery. The brown and gold little kit decided to say hello to the tortoise-shell-and-white kit. Lilykit slowly made her way over to the kit, rehearsing what she would say. She finally reached the kit and Lilykit began to panic a little. She took a deep breath and said, "H-h-hi! I-I'm L-Lilyk-kit. What's y-your n-name?" she stammered. She looked up, embarrassed and anxious about what would happen

'What if she doesn't like me? What if now she hates me? What if she thinks I'm dumb or... dear StarClan, did I wash my fur today? What if....' The 'What if's' swirled around the kit's head, overwhelming her. Lilykit knew that she was overreacting...but still! She took a deep breath and looked up at the other kit, the brown and gold dappled kit's eyes filled with humiliation.

Dapplekit flicked her ear, gazing at the camp from her spot by the nursery. Turning her head, she spotted another kit walking in her direction. The kit was smaller than herself, and the tortoiseshell's whiskers twitched excitedly- could this be her first friend? Dapplekit listened as the tiny kit introduced herself, noting the kitten- who she now knew was called 'Lilykit'- seemed very nervous.

"Hi! My name's Dapplekit," she purred softly, trying her best to sound friendly. She didn't want to scare the kit off, as she already seemed on edge. Dapplekit met the brown and gold kit's eyes, trying to reassure her with her own amber gaze. "Is this your first time out of the nursery, too?"

Lilykit looked up in surprise. "N-No. But, I c-can show y-you around!" She mewed, growing more comfortable around...Dapplekit. "C-C'mon!" She mewed, leading her to a den. "Th-This is the E-Elder's den." She said, pointing her tail to the bush.

Dapplekit nodded eagerly at Lilykit's suggestion, her eyes gleamed with enthusiasm. She bounded after the smaller kit towards the elder's den.
"Wow!" she said, squinting to see if any of the elders were inside. "Do you know any of the elders? I hear they tell great stories!"
