It's gonna be a fight!

OOC: Disclaimer, this topic is open, but NO one else is going to fight. I just made it open so we could have an audience :'D

IC: Heart racing and fur feeling clammy, Tinystar padded through the gorse entrance and into the camp clearing. Jumping up onto the Tallbranch with more ease than the Great Rock at Fourtrees, he stayed silent as he waited as the rest of the gathering party made their way back to camp. Tonight, on top of already making himself look like a fool in not being able to climb the Great Rock very easily, Sedgestrike and several other cats had decided to take it upon themselves to embarrass SkyClan even more. While this wasn't at all how he'd wanted to start his term as leader,  the small tom wasn't going to take anymore of their disrespect and knew he had to do something about earlier tonight.

"Let all cats old enough to gather their own prey gather beneath Tallbranch for a clan meeting!" he yowled. Never in his life had he had to be so strict, and while he would've let the comments made towards him go, the harsh and unedifying words were spoken out at a gathering, which made them even worse. He was not going to have his clan be looked down upon, which meant somehow dealing with the cats that thought it was best to share their opinions with every other clan. Didn't they care about how their clan's reputation? The stout leader had wondered on the way back to camp. Apparently not.

The silver tom in question stalked bitterly behind Tinystar. His tail high and proud despite the tongue lashing he had gotten from Goldeneye. A cold green glare was levelled at the leader, then at Mintwhisker as he padded towards the warriors den just as the meeting was called. He turned, then with an arrogant smirk, continued to pad away from Tinystar and lay down in his nest in front of the warriors den.

The tiny leader didn't frighten him, nor did he make an imposing figure. Instead, Sedgestrike found his claim to leadership as nothing better than a fraud.
"Why should we? You're barely up to my chest, smaller than an apprentice and just as weak." He mewed coldly as he stood up abruptly. The pelt on his shoulders rising. "Your claim to leadership to SkyClan just makes us a running joke among the other clans. Pathetic enough to follow even the weakest of warriors."

Ooc: why not, she's not dead yet.

IC: Crowpaw let out a small gasp. She had not been able to sleep, but stayed back instead of going to the gathering. Obviously something had gone down then, because everyone seemed more mad at Sedgestrike than usual(because there was no one in the clan who wasn't mad at him. He was a foxheart beyond words.) Even Tinystar, who was usually kind and very chill, seemed more like the tales of Ivystar, Jaystar's predecessor. Strict, harsh, and some even said bloodthirsty.

Tigerleaf's pelt prickled with unease at the tension that hung over the SkyClan patrol. The striped she-cat dragged her paws, once again at the back of the group. Having finally left the gathering clearing caused a mild sense of relief to tug at her senses, but she wasn't foolish enough to think that everything was over with their return to camp. Just as she had expected, as soon as they had cleared the gorse entrance, Tinystar leaped unto the Tallbranch. The strict tone that he used was unlike one that she had ever heard him use before. There was no way he was going to pretend the fuss that had just occurred at the gathering had never happened.

Flattening her ears against her head, the young warrior slowly padded forward. However, Sedgestrike's hostile words against the tiny tom caused her paws to come to a halt. His blatant disregard of Tinystar's summons had not escaped her attention, but she had not planned on doing anything about it at first. Now, she suddenly rounded on the spotted warrior, her golden gaze boring fiercely into his green one. "Don't you think you've said enough?" She hissed through gritted teeth, "You're right; the clans probably think of us a joke now. If that was your goal all along, you've certainly accomplished it at the gathering earlier. Just shut up for once and follow orders." Her bad mood that had been brewing for the evening finally blew over. Even though she had tried to ignore Sedgestrike at the gathering, in the end she could still hear everything he'd said. Right now, SkyClan was in a state of disarray. Their deputy had received her warrior name barely a moon ago, and their leader's legs were so deformed that he couldn't even properly leap unto the Great Rock. Three of their past leaders had been killed within several moons by dogs that were still at large in the forest(?). No one had any idea what the future held for SkyClan. Plus she was tired and needed her sleep. The older tom's attitude only made everything even worse than it already was. She had had enough.

What a sordid, petty affair. Elmcloud observed, disinterest gaze prickling with a faint emotion akin to disgust as he glared after Tinystar and Sedgestrike. He longed for the days whenever Crowstar was still their Leader- certainly the black-furred tom wouldn't be so utterly foolish as to indulge an anger-fueled attempt at provocation! However, he simply had no stakes in the matter, regardless of the outcome. Whether Tinystar or Sedgestrike prevailed, he couldn't bring himself to care too much. Hopefully whatever Tinystar was planning would put this matter to rest or else it'd be a long night for the rest of them.

Mintwhisker emerged from her den, making her way slowly to the base of the tree that Tinystar currently sat in, shooting Sedgestrike a quick glare as she passed him. "Don't forget about Goldeneye's warning," She hissed, her murky green eyes narrowed maliciously. "And the cat who currently resides under my care."
She would never dream of hurting Sparrowpaw- or any cat that required her assistance -intentionally, but Goldeneye's encouraging smile and the other Medicine cat' anger towards Sedgestrike had given the Skyclan she-cat a boost of confidence. Sedgestrike didn't scare her.

Blue gaze scanning the growing crowd, his eyes landed upon Sedgestrike as he began to speak. Did this tom have fleas in his fur? What in StarClan's name was his problem?

Trying not to wince at the warrior's piercing words, Tinystar waited for him to finish before replying. "Because I am your leader," he started, a blank look on his face as him and Sedgestrike locked eyes. "You claim that we are a joke, but what you did tonight in front of all five clans is what made our situation even worse," he began, anger beginning to run through his veins. He'd never felt so helpless and confused on how to handle a situation, and while he didn't want to argue with his clanmates of all cats, Sedgestrike clearly wanted a fight.

"Yes, I'm small, every-cat knows that by now, but why should that matter? I can hunt, fight, and climb trees just as good as any other warrior here. The leaders before me and StarClan have all approved of me leading this clan, whether you like it or not, and I have the best intentions for this clan, unlike you, clearly, so what are you trying to gain from this nonsense? To prove that you're just as whiny as a spoiled kit demanding milk?" With his words almost ending in a hiss, Tinystar was able to stop himself. This wasn't him, he was better than this. He didn't need nor want to let anger and rage cloud his thoughts and words. Besides, Sedgestrike most likely wanted the satisfaction of his opinion getting on his nerves, so he was determined to not give him that pleasure.

A low growl rumbled from Sedgestrike's throat at his clamnate's words. Did they all have fleas in their brains? There was no chance he would accept this. His eyes narrowed at Mintbreath's words, she didn't have the guts to do what she threatened. His gaze met his daughter's who watched nervously but didn't stop him as he marched to the tallbranch, then leapt up onto it following Tinystar's words. His large bulk shook the branch as he hissed at the tiny white tom.

The one who had no business leading them. The one who couldn't be SkyClan because he couldn't really fly like they could. The one who, ultimately, was the weakest of them because of his size and was pathetic enough to protest it.
"I don't think StarClan approved you." He meowed seriously. "I think you're too afraid to admit that you are unworthy of the title. That your pitiful weakness, those tiny legs and short little body means you could never lead us. You can't be as agile or fast as SkyClan needs you to be. Poplarstar was wrong to trust in you, just as we were wrong to trust in Rippedstar." Sedgestrike snarled as he lunged for the tiny tom.

Watching as Sedgstrike jumped up to join him on the Tallbranch, Tinystar lowered himself and dug his claws into the bark as the branch shook, as to not wobble off.

Looking up to the grey speckled tom as he spoke more harsh words, the small leader would've replied, but before he was able to do so, he was struck on the face by a paw full of sharp claws. Letting out a hiss of surprise at the sudden sharp pain that overtook his muzzle and the fact that Sedgestrike decided to make this a physical fight, he took a step back, weary of were the edges of the branch were. 'I don't want to fight you!' he wanted to cry out, but knew he had no time, plus it wasn't like in doing so would help his situation. Who knew what Sedgestrike's end plan for this fight was, and while he absolutely hated fighting, he didn't want to wait and find out what was at the end of this battle if he did nothing.

Rearing up on his stubby hind legs, Tinystar slashed wildly at Sedgestrike's anger stricken face before coming back down onto all four. There was only so much he could do on such a small space, but he would give it his all, even if it meant injuring one of his own clanmates... Was this what being a leader meant? Or was it just his luck that gave him such trouble with his own clan?

Tinystar used Rear-up to Slash, causing 20 damage, and costing 15 stamina.

The silver tom scoffed at the blow, leaping over Tinystar's claws even as they pierced him in the chest like a warning. Knowing that what he was about to do was completely wrong. It was not the way a clan cat acted... it was the way a rogue behaved. Yet he found himself with a snarl and lunging at Tinystar to pin the poor smaller tom down to the branch. Memories wrapped around his mind of Rippedstar trying to teach him that all his clanmates deserved respect.

Yet, Poplarstar was chosen. A snarl showed his teeth as he remembered the results of that. Of Rippedstar's death and the dog that did it. Of Poplarstar's foolish mistake of dying as well after stripping his apprentice away from him. Taking away his chance to prove that he was a valuable warrior. His green eyes were slitted as his tail lashed behind him.

The striped fur along her back rose slightly as Sedgestrike showed no regard for her words. However, the anger quickly dissipated like steam, being replaced by exhaustion. Tigerleaf sighed, the sound barely audible. Whatever. She didn't really care anymore. She couldn't bring herself to care. She sat down, weary golden gaze following the spotted warrior across the clearing. As Sedgestrike bunched his muscles to leap, warning bells rang within her mind. She remained unmoving. In the next moment, he was on the Tallbranch, facing Tinystar down.

Tigerleaf almost couldn't believe it. Sedgestrike was actually fighting against Tinystar. Not just verbally, as he had done so far, but with claws this time. The Tallbranch trembled with the movements that were being carried out on it, but it remained sturdy. It seemed unlikely that it would snap beneath their weight. Someone ought to stop them. The thought rang distantly in her mind. Not her. She hadn't been the only one to speak up against Sedgestrike. Let the others do it. However, another side of hers felt a twisted interest in the battle that was currently going on. Either Tinystar would win, or he would not. If the short white tom was ever going to prove his worth as leader, there had never been a better time to do it. With an apathetic gaze, she watched in silence.

Tinystar was being attacked by his own warrior? What had this clan come to? Her father's death must have been so terrible... How was Sedgestrike like this? Why? All she could do was hope Tinystar won...

Letting out a huff, Tinystar was suddenly pinned down and helpless under the weight of the much larger tom. "Why," he hissed through a breath, blood dripping down his face. Sedgestrike held so much hatred and anger in his heart, what in StarClan's could have made him like this?

'Why?' The question made Sedgestrike's claws dig deeper into Tinystar's pelt with a snarl.
"The real question is 'why not?'" He growled before he dragged his claws down Tinystar's white pelt. The blood he drew led to less satisfaction then he thought it would. It made sense that Tinystar couldn't lead. It made sense that he would strike out, his tail lashed as he clung to the bark with a firm grip. "I'm just correcting your mistake."
