Mistypaw's Warrior Ceremony

Stepping up to the Tallbranch, it would've been a lie to say that he wasn't a bit nervous. Just last sunrise, SkyClan's former leader, Poplarstar had been killed in a brutal accident, but even so, life had to go on, which meant taking immediate charge of apprentices waiting to be given their warrior name. So here he was, standing on the clan's gathering tree like countless leaders had done before him.

"Let all cats old enough to climb a tree gather beneath the Tallbranch for a Clan meeting!" the short tom yowled, ready to begin the ceremony. He'd never named a warrior before, but he assumed it was along the same lines as apprentice ceremonies and he kept telling himself to stay confident and not worry, or else his nervousness might end up rubbing off on his clanmates.

Mistypaw exited the apprentice den, joining the steady stream of cats headed towards the Tallbranch in response to Tinylegs' call. She settled among her Clanmates, gazing up at her new leader. It was still so hard to believe that even after such a short time, Poplarstar was gone. Could this finally be her warrior ceremony?

Spotting Mistypaw's pelt among the growing crowd, Tinylegs continued.

"We gather here today to give one of our apprentices their Warrior name and rank," he began, looking out upon the gathering clan bellow, a smile on his muzzle. "Mistypaw has proven herself worthy to climb the ranks of SkyClan and receive her Warrior name," Tinystar spoke and then paused for another brief moment before continuing.

"Mistypaw, please step forward."

Once the apprentice stepped forward, the short tom continued. "I, Tinystar, leader of SkyClan, call upon my warrior ancestors to look down on this apprentice. Mistypaw has trained hard to understand the ways of your noble code, and I commend her to you as a warrior in her turn. Mistypaw, do you promise to uphold the warrior code, and to protect and defend your Clan, even at the cost of your life?" he asked, meeting the apprentices gaze.

Standing before her Clanmates, Mistypaw was nearly exploding from excitement. This was finally her moment! Once she said these words, she would be a warrior of SkyClan, what she had worked to be her whole life. She regretted nothing. She was a SkyClan cat, no matter what her blood was. She took a deep breath. Standing as tall as she could, she spoke two words. "I do."

"Then by the powers of StarClan, I give you your warrior name. Mistypaw, from this day forward you shall be known as Mistyrain. SkyClan honors your faith and loyalty. Congratulations," he finished. With that, Tinystar leaped down from Tallbranch, with the ceremonial words trailing after him as he offered a soft bump of his muzzle to the newly named warrior in a quiet form of congratulations as other Clanmates flocked forwards as well.
