Mothkit's Apprentice Ceremony

Swiftstep hopped up onto the Tallrock, gaze displaying pride. His beloved clan was growing and growing. This ceremony was for a kit. They were soon to become an apprentice! The deputy composed himself and soon had a serious expression. Even if his face said otherwise, the brown tom was very excited on the inside. "Let all cats old enough to catch their own prey gather underneath the Tallrock for a Clan meeting!" Swiftstep called with an authoritative tone.

Mothkit scrambled quickly out of her mother's persistent tongue before she raced out of the nursery at full force and almost skidding directly into Tallrock. Luckily, her mother grasped her scruff last second and plopped her down beside her. "Thanks." She huffed breathlessly, giving her a sheepish grin before looking up at Swiftstep eagerly.

The brown tom looked down at Mothkit with quite the pleased gaze before continuing, "We all gather here today to make one of our kits an apprentice. Mothkit, please step forward." Once the young cat did so, the deputy nodded approvingly with a small smile and then began to speak again, "Mothkit, you have reached the age of six moons, and it is time for you to be apprenticed. From this day on, until you receive your warrior name, you will be known as Mothpaw. Graybriar will be your mentor. She may be a younger warrior but I trust that she will pass down everything she knows on to you."

Graybriar watched the ceremony with a small smile on her face, until all of a sudden her name was called. Her sky-blue eyes opened wide in surprise. Her, a mentor? It seemed like she'd just got her own warrior name, and now here she was, called to train another cat. Regardless, if Swiftstep thought she was competent enough, she'd do her best.
