Newleaf brings new life (closed)

Laying at the edge of camp just a few foxlengths away from the freshkill pile was Mudfoot, one of ShadowClan's oldest warriors and now, a new father. His kit was somewhere around camp, whether that be the nursery or playing with the apprentices somewhere, but until the kit decided to disturb him, he planned to soak in every second of the day.

The fit, rusty coated tom laid with his front paws crossed neatly over each other with his head resting on them with his eyes closed as he drifted into sleep. His long, bushy tail flicked back and forth every so often as a gentle, midday breeze ruffled his dark fur, and warm rays of sun gave him a sense of contentment. This was what life needed to be like everyday.

A little kit bounded across camp, chasing after a stray leaf caught in the small breeze. But that all stopped when she saw her father. She immediately went into play mode and crouched on her tiny paws. She crawled her way over to him from behind, and pounced on his tail!

Not having heard the pawsteps of his newest kit, Sootkit, Mudfoot stayed where he was, eyes closed. Almost having drifted away into sleep, the rusty colored tom jumped when something sharp stabbed his tail. Letting out a surprised 'huff' and body now tense, he snapped his head around to see none other than Sootkit playing with his tail. "And what might you be doing there?" the older warrior purred, trying to forget about the slight pain that shot up his tail from her tiny claws.

Sootkit looked up at him and laughed. "Practicing!" she exclaimed before bounding over to face him properly. She pawed lightly at one of his front paws. "I wanna be big and strong like you and Mama!"
She pounced on his paws, then rolled over and gave him a cute look, complete with big, yellow eyes. Sootkit was in such a playful mood, and hoped her father would be in on it, confirming with a boop to his nose with a paw (with sheathed claws).

Letting out a chuckle at her enthusiasm when she touched noses with him, Mudfoot lifted a big paw and lightly brought it down on her head, just enough to hold her down so that she would have to find a way to escape. "I'm so proud that all of my kits want to be big, brave warriors someday," the russet pelted tom purred with a smile.

Sootkit squirmed under his paw, backing up until she popped out of his grasp. She bounded as she said, "Mmhm! We're all gonna be big and strong! Watch!"
She did her best to imitate a hunting pose, then stalked toward him a step, wiggled her behind, and pounced on his paw! Sootkit looked to him for approval, looking so very proud of herself for hunting her father's paw.

Purring at her excitement to become a warrior, a smile sat on Mudfoot's muzzle as he watched his daughter try and pounce as if she were hunting his large, russet colored paw. Giving a nod of approval, a chuckle escaped the older tom's jaws. "You'll be a warrior in no time," he laughed

Sootkit stood proudly, trying to look bigger and braver than was possible for the small kit. "I'm gonna be a Warrior and I'm gonna make you proud to be my father!" She smiled and imagined herself as a strong Warrior hunting food and scaring away mean cats and stuff.

"Of course you will," he chuckled in reply, a smile on his muzzle.

Sootkit smiled. "Do you think I'll chase away foxes? Or mean cats?" She lowered her ears. "I don't wanna just hunt for mice all the time."

"Foxes are pretty scary and dangerous, so you probably won't be hunting any of those," Mudfoot chuckled, amused at the thought of the she-cat defeating a beast like that.

"Maybe we can practice! Wanna play?" Sootkit crouched again, tail waving back and forth wildly.

IC: "I'm sorry, I was about to go out on a patrol," Mudfoot mewed, as he stood up. "Maybe another time though," the warrior added and kneeling down, gave his daughter a nudge on the cheek with his.

Sootkit giggled when she felt his nudge. "See you soon!" she exclaimed, tail waving a bit. She's ask him all about it later.
