Blackpaw's moonstone journey

Goldeneye waited for Blackpaw outside her den, her herbs at her paws. Hopefully, they wouldn't complain about the herbs like every single other apprentice, but she didn't hold out much hope for it. Goldeneye snorted reproachfully at the thought. Inhaling sharply she tried her best to push the annoyance to the back of her head, no use in dwelling in it if it was going to happen over and over again.

Blackpaw took his sweet time to come outside of the den and to meet up with the medicine cat. Fur groomed pristine, the tomcat finally showed up, smiling lazily. He ate the herbs, and, exactly like every other apprentice, his expression completely changed to one of disgust.

"Tastes like fox-dung...." he muttered to himself, averting his glance from Goldeneye's.

Goldeneye's pupils turned to slit as a smile pressed against her maw, not one of kindness though. "Let's get going shall we?" Goldeneye padded to the camp entrance, diving into the river and out once more. Turning to look back at Blackpaw to see if he was following, she pushed on, grateful for the fact that she could run as fast as she could.

Blackpaw followed the medicine cat wordlessly, his lean frame helping him match her pace almost effortlessly. He look smug while at it, sometimes shifting his head just to grin and show the pride he was brimming with.
