Meddling Kits [Closed]

"Woah..." Fallowkit's small, fluffy form sat in awe as she stared intently at the herbs in front of her. She had snuck into Goldeneye's den while she was away collecting herbs, which wasn't hard to do with most cats way hunting or patrolling borders- all things she didn't quite understand yet. What she found inside the den, though, didn't cease to amaze her. There were so many different berries, roots, leaves... How could Goldeneye remember what each one did?! Her mouth stood agape, thinking of how long it must take to find each one, put it in its right place... What if she used the wrong herb while treating a cat?! What would happen? Would they be alright? Every question that the small she-kit could think of wormed its way into her head, curiosity looming thick.

Goldeneye was not out long, with a large clan to care for she had to weigh her time wisely, like how long she could spend out of camp collecting herbs, out and away from camp. Goldeneye pushed into her den, large and lonely, but not as lonely as she thought it was. When she saw the kit her first reaction was rage and anger, everytime a kit stumbled into her den without an injury it resulted in the destruction of her herbs but this time it seemed to be different. If a kit really wanted to have torn her herbs to shreds it would have done it by now, Goldeneye pushed aside her feelings of anger and padded by the kit, settling her bundle in the back.

Turning to the tiny invader her perked her brow, her tail raising to brush against the top of her den. "Are you ill...?" Goldeneye wondered what the kits name was, after all as medicine cat she would have helped this kit come to the world. "Fallowkit?" She finished, happy with the fact that her memory was still as good as ever. Goldeneye gave the kit a sniff, smelling for the rancid stench of illness, but she couldn't smell any.

Fallowkit's head snapped to the side, rather quick to land her blue eyes on the golden RiverClan Medicine Cat in front of her. "No, ma'am. 'M not ill." The she-kit looked back to the selection of herbs hidden in small alcoves in the den. It was almost unfathomable to her young, impressionable mind, how many different herbs, berries, and roots there were. They each had a different smell, and nearly all of them smelled different. She was only familiar with one item she saw, a small black seed- poppy seeds. She'd seen Goldeneye give the tiny black seeds to many Queens before, and she'd even come to understand that they helped with pain."How do you know which one's which? And how do you know which ones to use? Where do all of them come from?" She cocked her head as she looked back to the large golden she-cat, and a rather dark thought bubbled up in her innocent mind"... What happens if you use the wrong one?" She probably had a million more questions she could ask, but the last one was the one she was most curious about.

Goldeneye nodded curtly and was about to dismiss the little kit from her den, but the little thing beat her to the punch. "Lots of time, mesmerizing, collecting..." Goldeneye meowed patiently, though she wished to get back to work. "That's easy. If I use the wrong herb, they die. It's that simple." the medicine cat meowed. The golden-furred she-cat perked a brow at the kit, her head tilting just slightly, "If that's all. I have a lot of stuff to do."

A tiny, horrified squeak came from the she-kits maw as Goldeneye explained the consequences of misusing a herb. "That's awful!" The exclamation came from the small kits opened jaw, looking into Goldeneye's yellow eyes. She couldn't help but be curious... "Have you ever used the wrong herb, Goldeneye?" The question came with a bit of reluctance, seeing as how Goldeneye had to get back to work, but she just had to know. She hoped the answer would be 'no', and her pleading eyes gazed up at the Medicine Cat. Please say no.
