Nests lined with Feathers

A warm smile rested on the orange tom's maw. The sun shone brightly into the heart of ThunderClan as he selected a piece of prey to take into the welcoming mouth of the nursery. The kits had been born a few moons ago, now they were able to find their legs, but of course that meant rambunctiousness. He brought a couple voles into the nursery and settled himself in front of the entrance with a pained wince as his side hurt. He placed the voles in front of the kits and gave each of them an encouraging lick. Robinsong had barely waited to go back to hunting, but he knew if anything happened to them, he'd never forgive himself and neither would she.

"Okay kits, it's time for breakfast." He mewed patiently, his tail flicked as he watched them with contentment. It was hard to believe, even after being there for their birth that they were his. His scent was nearly as strong as some of the queens due to his injuries not allowing him to go out of camp properly. He flinched as his shoulder's reminded him not to lean them against the walls.

Bramblekit let out a long, drawn huff, feeling incredibly tired -- and not for the first time that morning. The sun was high in the sky and warm across her fur -- too warm, and icky -- as she sat by the entrance, licking her chest thoroughly and with a deep discontent.

Dust was clinging to her everywhere from when her denmates shoved her in the clearing, and it was itchy. And dirty.

Why can't they just play somewhere else...?

Bramblekit just sighed, trying to get some of the dirt from her shoulder when she felt a sudden lick across her head -- making her start!

"Featherheart..." the dark tabby mewed in almost a whine, shaking her pelt in irritation as her father was suddenly above her. "Where were you?"

The other kits had been chasing Bramblekit all morning!

Sandkit looked up when she felt a lick on her head. She got up and walked to a vole and sniffed. The she-kit licked her lips before taking a big bite. Her eyes widened as she savored the meal. She wasn't content just sitting there eating. She wanted to go explore. She looked up again at her father and gave him a grin. It was a pretty nice day to walk around.
