Scarletpaw's Warrior Ceremony

(occ: Since Leo doesn't have his full name yet IC, this ceremony is set before his promotion)

There was a bit more energy in his step than usual as Leopardclaw bunched his haunches to leap onto the Highrock with a flick of his long, striped tail, turning around at its peak to address the clan.  "Let all cats old enough to catch their own prey gather beneath the Highrock for a clan meeting!"  The red-pelted Scarletpaw had, at long last, completed her training to the competence of her mentor, and was ready to receive a warrior's name.  With every warrior named the clan grew stronger, so the deputy's hazel eyes gleamed with a calm sense of pride, and anticipation.

Scarletpaw had not expected a Clan meeting, and so when she heard Leopardclaw's call, she jumped in surprise. I wonder whats the matter... Then suddenly her paws tingled with excitement as a new thought entered her mind. Could it be her warrior ceremony? She hoped so! She had trained hard under her mentor, Emberheart, and was as good as any other warrior by now. She quickly walked over to the Highrock. She felt like a piece of prey was lodged in her throat as she stared up expectantly at Leopardclaw to hear his next few words.

Once most of the clan had appeared, Leopardclaw called for silence.  "Today, one of our apprentices is ready to receive her warrior name.  Scarletpaw, step forward."  His gaze resting on the russet-pelted she-cat, he smiled proudly.

Yes! Excitement filled Scarletpaw when she heard the words and quickly stepped forward to receive her name

With an approving nod, Leopardclaw began to speak; "I, Leopardclaw, deputy of ThunderClan, call upon my warrior ancestors to look down on this apprentice. She has trained hard to understand the ways of your noble code, and I commend her to you as a warrior in her turn.  Scarletpaw, do you promise to uphold the warrior code and to protect and defend your Clan, even at the cost of your life?"

"Yes, I do," Scarletpaw replied, her paws tingling. She had dreamed of this moment ever since she had first become an apprentice, and now it was finally happening. She wondered if this was actually a dream just like all her others, and not reality. She couldn't believe it.

"Then by the powers of StarClan, I give you your warrior name.  Scarletpaw, from this moment on you will be known as Scarletsong.  StarClan honors your kindness and courage, and we welcome you as a full warrior of ThunderClan."  Leopardclaw leaped down from the Highrock to rest his chin on Scarletsong's head, completing the formal part of the ceremony.  After a moment, he stepped back and cheered her new name along with the rest of the clan, his eyes shining proudly.
