update - (yeah ill just start making daily updates, now)

i'm getting ready to head to my youth group, the one that a lot of students from my school go to. that includes my crush and the girl that i think he likes? am i jealous of that girl? no. she's pretty and social and stuff, so i understand why he likes her. i highly doubt he'll even talk to me, and i'm not gonna go out of my way to say anything to him (because i'll have my own friends to hang out with).

if he talks to me then i'm going to shrivel up into a ball.
otherwise, i'm going to watch my crush talk to his crush.

we talked together in the lunch line, but we split up to go to our own separate tables. after that, i only saw him when he was heading to get into his assigned school bus to go home. we don't have the same bus, so i only shot him a wave when he was leaving.

am i excited? kinda. i have friends, but i'm going to be a third wheel since they have dates. does my crush have a date yet? i dunno. we haven't talked about dates to the dance, at all. i imagine that he's going to go with that girl in my ap english class.

i think i'm just going to call her girl, just because i don't want to say her real name and i have no other ideas.

i'll call my crush thor because he's blonde-haired and blue-eyed. except, my crush doesn't look anything like thor.

i'm ready to be the third wheel for all of my friends at junior prom. i already have my dress and everything planned, so i really can't back out, now.

that's not the exact dress, that's just a photo i got from the internet, but the real one has a rose gold skirt instead of a yellow one.

i got highlights in my hair that match my dress, and i want to put it in a ponytail like this, but i have no idea how to do it, so i either need to use youtube to help me, or i have to spend more money on a hairstylist.

i have no idea what in the world thor is doing, but i'm not going to ask him anything about prom until the subject comes up somehow.

thor came to school about an hour late today because he had a doctor's appointment this morning. during the trip, his allergies had acted up really badly, and even the doctor's had no clue what was going on.

maybe he's an alien. that would explain his inhumane perfection.

i want to ask thor to junior prom, but we haven't even known each other for that long. one of my friends is on the same swim team as ap english girl, the one who i think thor likes. my friend said that she'll talk to ap english girl tomorrow and see if she and thor have anything going.

if she says no, then i'll ask.

if she says yes, then i'll be the third wheel, as usual.

i won't be surprised if thor and ap english girl are a thing. there will be guys to date in college, i guess.

just bring it up when you guys are talking "hey omg i'm so excited for prom" or something like that. Like ash said- guys like the casual (i think i have no idea this is based off of info bad touch together from fanfics and me asking my guy friends for advice) just act casual and it'll be casual :P You should find out from thor himself if he's planning on asking someone out.

my friend asked ap english girl about thor and prom, and she said that they aren't going together. ap english girl said that they talk a lot, but she isn't into him (she likes a guy in her italian class).

i dunno why i was so happy to hear that.

y'know what i'm also happy about?

school ends next week, so my ap english teacher thought that it would be a good idea to make all of her class write an affirmation to someone in the school. it can't be one of their friends, or someone that they're close to. they wanted it to be someone that they didn't talk to a lot, didn't know that well, or never spoke to, at all.

i panicked for about 10 hours, wondering whether or not i should write one to thor, or to a girl in my biology class that i speak to sometimes.

so, i chose thor (because i knew that you guys would kill me if i didn't).

here's what i wrote (i don't have a copy of the letter because i gave it to him, but here's what i remember).

Dear, Thor (i didn't actually write thor, i wrote his actual name)

Well, looks like another odd assignment has been given out. English teachers, right? They can be really strange. Well, I looked up what affirmation meant in the dictionary, and it means 'emotional support or encouragement'. I don't know you very well, but I know that you run, and you're very determined to keep yourself fit and strong. You display immense amounts of self-control, and that's really, really cool. I wish I was as determined as you are. Whenever I try to stick to a diet, I end up snapping within an hour. I don't like sports that much, but maybe I'll show up to one of your cross-country meets one day, just so that I can watch. You guys are going to the championships, right? That's awesome! You've probably realized by now that I'm just trying to stall this letter so that Mrs. (insert ap english teacher's name here) will think that I'm writing something that's long and inspiring. Are you excited about junior prom on Saturday? I am. Do guys spend weeks and weeks preparing their outfits for the dance? I've always wanted to know. Most guys in our school are very lax about what they wear, even to formal events. I stressed about my dress for almost two months. Stupid, right? I don't know why. And to think I'm going to have to do it all over again next year when senior prom rolls around. You're going to junior prom, right? Or, at least I think you are. All I know is that a lot of the cross-country runners will be going. It'd be nice to see you there. Do you know who you're going with, yet? I'm going with a bunch of my friends. If you're going, you'll be seeing me at the food table for the entire night. I guess I can consider food to be my date to the dance. Too bad I'll have to eat it.

since i have english before lunch, i was able to give him the letter at lunch while we were in line at the salad bar. he thanked me, went to his table, and read it. i went to my own table and stressed myself out over whether or not i said the right thing.

at the end of the day, when everyone was getting ready to leave, and the buses hadn't come to get us, yet. thor approached me and told me that he thought the letter was funny. the entire time, i stayed casual, but i was dying on the inside.

we exchanged phone numbers (i asked for his phone number because i managed to be brave for like 2 seconds).

i suddenly remembered that all of you guys had wanted me to ask him out, but it was too late by the time i had remembered.

so, on the bus, i texted him.

i know, texting someone to ask them out is lame, but i wouldn't have been able to say it to his face without panicking or freezing up.

here's the conversation. i didn't include the time stamps or names or anything because the conversation is the most important part. italics is me, bold is thor.

he didn't respond until like 20 minutes afterward, and i was really scared that i had freaked him out or made him mad or something.

the other half of my mind, the reasonable side, told me that he had just got off the bus and would respond later.

20 minutes later, i received this string of texts. i had been in the shower so i hadn't been able to respond when he had first texted me.
