| Mothkit padded out of the gorse, the white tom's fur shown bright in the sunshine the clear open sky easily supplied the light and rays of the sun to shine down onto the sandy area of the camp. The small kit was looking for the tom that had brought him into this world, green orbs searched for the familiar grey fur that he called his father. Once his eyes locked onto the male, his paws quickened as purrs left his throat. He grew increasingly more excited to spend time with him, tail raised high above his body, a few chirps left his mouth to get the attention of his father as he neared him. ______________________________________ |

| Laying at the edge of camp just a few foxlengths away from the freshkill pile was Smokepelt, one of WindClan's senior warriors and a new father. The lean, grey and white tom laid with his front paws crossed neatly over each other and his head lifted so that he could keep an eye on the camp, though his eyes were closed. His long, white tipped tail flicked back and forth every so often and a gentle, midday breeze ruffled his dark fur.
Hearing the sound of small, clumsy pawsteps in the distance, Smokepelt just barely opened an eye to his son scampering towards him, and as he neared closer and closer to his father, the kit's happy purrs became audible.
Just recently, his mate had given birth to mostly white kit, who they named Mothkit. The queen whom he called his mate wasn't the perfect cat and didn't necessarily make him happy, but now, this new responsibility had fallen upon him and he didn't really have a choice in what he did, seeing that he didn't have many options anyway.
Closing his barely lifted eyelid, Smokepelt listened as the kit' kept approaching him and soon enough, the clumsy pawsteps stopped. Opening both his eyes, the tom turned his gaze downward to see Mothkit staring up at him with big, curious eyes. Unlike other father's that would've greeting their kits with a purr of affection or even a simple smile, the warrior kept as still as a statue, saying nothing and showing no pleased expression on his face in regards to the kit's arrival.
While he'd had pawfuls of kits in the past, he'd never been the best with younger cats, but he hadn't bothered to change his ways over the moons, so his actions around and towards his younger kin apparently didn't matter much to him, or maybe it was simply because this was how he was, so he didn't exactly recognize his actions. Either way, his constant stoic personality plus all of the weight and doubts of his past kept him from being full of any sort of emotion, and only StarClan knew if he'd ever change. ______________________________________ ~ ice ice baby |

| Mothkit knew that his his father wasn't the happiest cat, but that didn't stop the kit from rubbing up and all over his fathers legs, his tail brushing across the older tom's face every time he turned around and make another run against his his limbs. "You're so grumpy all the time, and I wanna ask why but then that will make me grumpy too!" He squeaked out, he always known that his father wasn't the best father and that the cat had little to no emotion when it came to his children but either way that didn't stop Mothkit from wanting to spend time with him and try to make him smile anyways. Deep down the kit was clumsy and probably wasn't going to turn out to be the best warrior in all of the clan, but the small paws he had were swift and he hoped that one day Smokepelt would tell him he was proud of him, but surely that day was many, many moons away.
Mothkit trotted around his father multiple times before he tired himself out and laid next to him and swiftly turned himself onto his back, exposing his soft belly for just a few moments. He shifted back onto his side and pushed his paws into Smokepelt's hide leg, kneeding the fur gently as purrs still left his throat even though his father gave no response to him. Mothkit didn't mind, as long as the senior warrior did nothing to harm him, the tom didn't know any better that the tom was being a bad father emotional wise. ______________________________________ |

| Not moving a muscle, Smokepelt kept his eyes closed and head up as his son vigorously rubbed against him, the kit's purrs practically vibrating his own pelt. Opening one his his eyes, he turned his head ever so slightly to look at Mothpaw as he spoke. While the kit was right, he didn't necessarily want to be so... dull, but no matter how hard he tried, nothing could stir the tom enough to make him change. Not to mention, the fact that his emotions would someday rub off onto his youngest kit hadn't even crossed his mind, so it wasn't like he had anything to change for.
Saying nothing more than a simple "hmph," Smokepelt watched through a half opened eye as the kit trotted around him and soon enough laid down at his side. Turning his head to look out onto the camp instead of at Mothkit, the silent tom let out a yawn. "I'm not grumpy, just quiet," the stoic, husky voiced warrior finally said, trying to vaguely justify his actions, though even he knew what he said was a lie. ______________________________________ ~ ice ice baby |

| Mothkit laid there for a bit in silence, unsure of what to say so he just continued to kneed at the pelt that was staying ever so still for him. He shifted to turn himself and rub his head against the grey tom's legs, "Quiet is boring and you're boring." Mothkit spat out with a slight tone of laugh, it was more of a tease rather than an insult. He looked up at him with wide pupils as he regained his playfulness with his father, he got up and started batting a paw at his tail.
He waited for it to flick a couple of times before he used his small brain to think of an idea to get the much larger feline to pay attention to him. He padded a couple of fox lengths away, tail still high in the air as he got close to the ground and wiggled his hunches. He paused for a couple moments before he ran and stumbled towards Smokepelt, pinning down his tail and biting down on it hard with his tiny razor teeth. His tail swayed excitedly behind him as he didn't let go until the warrior did something about it. ______________________________________ |

| Letting out a sigh at Mothkit's comment, the tom would've said something, but decided that it wasn't worth it. 'I'm not that boring, am I?' he thought to himself, continuing to stay silent. Closing his eyes, he listened as the kit huffed and batted at his tail which flicked every so often. Beginning to doze off, a sudden sharp pain shot through his tail and up his spine.
Letting out a yowl, the grey and white tom jumped up, which tore his tail and probably lots of fur from Mothpaw's jaws and snapped, bringing a white, sheathed paw down onto the kit's nose. It wasn't hard enough to hurt or do any damage, but enough to smack some sense into him. "You DO NOT bite on cat's tails," he growled, scolding his kit, his eyes full of anger as he tried to not wince from the pain that lingered. ______________________________________ ~ ice ice baby |
