| It had taken a while, but she was ready. Fawnkit's throat was still healing. At least, it was externally. Internally, Mintpaw had determined she would never speak again. Despite all of this, her spirit was seemingly unbreakable and he wanted to give her a chance as a warrior. Her eyesight and hearing were fine, so there was no reason not to. However, she would need an understanding mentor to work around her condition. He had thought long and hard about who would mentor her and was finally decided. Now, to get this over with.
"Let all cats old enough to climb a tree gather beneath the tallbranch for a clan meeting!" |

| The meeting call sounded wrong when she heard it the first few times like there was something different about it, misplaced even, though she couldn't understand what it was. Fawnkit bustled out of the nursery, a bit upset by the fact that she'd have to separate from her mother, Dandiliondapple. She would have liked to call her Dandi for short since her name was so long, but she didn't have the luxury for it, she hoped someone got to call her Dandi for her though.
Fawnkit was always a bit nervous when she stepped into the clearing, and that day was certainly no exception, in fact, it was much worse. Her clan-mates would be gathering around, she barely knew them! Plus, a clan-announcement meant that Pantherblaze would be lurking around, more than usual, and it scared her a lot. Fawnkit did her best to push past it, she really did, but she was always fearful that he would come around the corner and into the nursery where she slept and kill her.
Fearful chills ran down the kits spine as she shook herself back into reality, stepping forwards she took her place, where she was told new apprentices would sit and... sat. Fawnkit once she brushed away her worries and nervousness, she was plenty excited for her ceremony, hoping that she got a super cool mentor/ |

| He spotted the kit and his eyes glistened in the memory of a faint smile the might have genuinely lit them up at one point. This was supposed to be an exciting time in the kit's life. It was even better for the clan who so desperately needed warriors with the threat of a battle looming over them. His eyes darkened instead, but he pushed away the thoughts and carried on, "Today, a kit is ready to join the ranks of the apprentices. Fawnkit, please step forward." Rippedstar's tone gave away no inkling of his thoughts or the torrent of negative emotions swirling around inside of him.
None of that mattered now, he needed to focus on the kit in front of him. Already, he was internally chastising himself for not feeling the thrill she so deserved. His distracted mind only made it worse. While she was padding up, he sucked in a deep breath and fixed his gaze on her, "Fawnkit, from this day until you receive your warrior name, you will be known as Fawnpaw. He has proven himself to be a worthy mentor and deputy and possesses many skills I hope he will pass onto you. Poplartooth will be your mentor. " The leader tried not to hesitate. Long-forgotten forgiveness had caused him to be frustrated with the young warrior he had named his deputy. But, at least Fawnpaw would not have to worry about proper training. He meowed a contratulations before disappearing back into his den. |

| Fawnkit?
That... scrap of fur was becoming an apprentice? Honeypaw bristled from her place in the crowd of cats, amber eyes staring down the insignificant fluff of fur. They didn't even know what filth she came from -- how could they make her an apprentice? And to Skyclan's deputy?
"Hmph," she huffed, tail sweeping in disapproval -- unable to understand Rippedstar's reasoning. The apprentice was learning more and more with every moon, her warriorhood approaching by the day, but Sedgestrike was right -- understanding her leader was impossible.
As far as she'd heard, the kit was broken. Disfigured, somehow. The runt couldn't even say a word -- and only Starclan knew what else could be wrong with her. How could they burden their deputy like this?
Honeypaw eyes scanned the crowd for Poplartooth, knowing Sedgestrike would be bristling right beside her. If Sedgestrike had been deputy, he'd have known what to say to such a decision.
OOC: I was under the impression that ceremonies were open -- if this is okay? cx ______________________________________

| Fawnpaw's eyes widen as Rippedstar announced that her mentor wasn't any old warrior, but a deputy! Green eyes sparkled as the fluffy apprentice made her way over, her worries forgotten at the moment as she padded towards her new mentor. Thrusting her pink nose towards the deputy, her kneaded the ground in her excitement, when would she get to start? Fawnpaw gave an inquisitive chirp, tilting her head as she looked to the entrance and back to her new mentor. |
