A pretty quick battle:

Hickorypaw had asked Acornpelt to take him out to walk around. Currently the two were walking and chatting along the Gorge. He knew this area wasn't Windclan's but he told his good friend that he wasn't going to do anything bad. The apprentice soon saw a cat trying to cross the dangerous border. The cat soon succeeded. He looked at the warrior, eyes holding worry. "Acornpelt, what do we do?" he asked her quietly.

Sprucepaw was attempting to cross the Gorge. He just wanted to have a looksie. Soon he turned and saw two Windclan cats looking right at him. Uh oh. Once he realized, he was on Windclan's side. He stood frozen and staring at the other cats.

Acornpelt's stare was fixed on Sprucepaw as her pupils expanded. Shifting her gaze back to Hickorypaw, she reassured him. "It doesn't look like this cat wants to be here. We can wait for him to leave, or tell him to leave. If he refuses, then we can get physical if he doesn't do so before us." Acornpelt converted her wide stare to Sprucepaw, eyes narrowing at the sight of the RiverClan cat. "This is WindClan territory. Are you going to leave, or are we going to have to make you?" The she-cat meowed, a snarl slightly tainting her voice.

Sprucepaw's eyes widened for a split second before staring directly at Acornpelt. "I-I won't leave if you force me like that she-cat!" he stated with growing confidence. He stood his ground. Then he began to stare at the warrior with loving eyes. He didn't even know he was doing it. It usually happened when he was in the presence of a she-cat or tom that he saw as breath-taking.

Hickorypaw hissed and ran toward the enemy apprentice and tackled him to the ground. He stared him down, pelt bristling. The windclanner saw how this apprentice was staring at his crush. It angered him to no end.

Noted for her extremely observant eyes, Acornpelt was baffled by the brown tom's sudden change of person. Sure, he didn't say anything, but how could she have missed that admiring look in his eyes? Shaking away the bewilderment, Acornpelt joined the battle between Hickorypaw and Sprucepaw. This cat sure was a mouse-brained one, or a very brave one. This tom refused to be chased off, even though obviously outnumbered, and supposedly liked her? Probably mouse-brained. Acornpelt didn't talk too much with other cats in her Clan, and she always felt self-conscious about herself. She wasn't pretty. Why would this random cat, who wasn't even in her Clan, like her? Oh well, it didn't matter anyway. Leaping to Hickorypaw's aid, Acornpelt hurdled herself towards Sprucepaw as soon as Hickorypaw finished tackling him, unsheathing her claws and sliding them down Sprucepaw's belly. As much as she would've loved to be the one to K.O this measly RiverClan apprentice, she wanted to give Hickorypaw some glory. "Finish him off," she growled to Hickorypaw; snapping her gaze back to Sprucepaw, who was writhing under her grip. "Or leave. Now." She couldn't believe she was offering this cat mercy, who had so stubbornly refused to leave, but cruelly injuring or strongly knocking out an apprentice who was so vastly overpowered was not justice or glory.

Sprucepaw's eyes widened. He bit his lip and trembled softly. He couldn't give up. He was a Riverclanner. He had to at least give them scars of his own. The tom hissed and struck Hickorypaw with an unsheathed paw. He then backed away weakly as an attempt to further himself away of what he knew would be his defeat.

Hickorypaw snarled as the cat smacked his face. He was given mercy and this is how he uses it! Riverclanners were idiots but really don't give up. He ran up to the apprentice and smacked the tom back. The apprentice collapsed in front of him. He looked tired. Hickory shook his head. "Go home. Never cross the border again understand?" he said sternly. He walked back to Acornpelt as Sprucepaw crossed back to Riverclan's side and ran away.

Acornpelt watched with satisfaction as Sprucepaw defeatedly returned to his borders, shoulders slunked. Eyes glimmering with pride, she turned to Hickorypaw. "Nice fighting," she purred. "I don't think that fish-brain will be coming back anytime soon." Leaning over to brush her muzzle against his cheek, Acornpelt murmured something into his ear. "You're gonna be a great warrior." A purr rumbled in her throat. "Let's go back to the WindClan camp."
