Clash of Water and Air

Fernpaw purred happily as she trotted along the edge of the thundering waterfall that separates WindClan from RiverClan. It was such a fascinating place! Very loud, but beautiful nonetheless. She stared out over the flowing river into RiverClan territory, wondering if she would be able to spot any neighboring cats on the other side. What was it like living in yucky, marshy water and mud? What did fish taste like? Could they really swim as well as otters? Were they always getting sick from all that water that they would steal herbs from WindClan before she was born? So many questions she had for any RiverClan cat that would hopefully cross her path!

Cinderpaw seemed to appear out of nowhere. "Who're you?" He asked suspiciously, ready to unsheath claws and fight.

Fernpaw looked up sharply at the RiverClan apprentice, then grinned and swished her tail excitedly. ”I’m Fernpaw, hi! Are you a RiverClan cat? You look really plump and sleek!”

Cinderpaw gave the Windclan cat a suspicious look. "Yes, I am Cinderpaw of Riverclan." He frowned. "We're supposed to be on opposing sides."

OOC: pity you didn't catch him earlier on. They could have been friends. he's going through a small teenage angst phase right now, so he'll be hard to get to.

”I know, but... wouldn’t everything just be safer and easier if we just out all our differences aside and worked together to make everyone happy? That’d be much better!” The WindClan apprentice purred with laughter, oblivious that her next words could very well get Cinderpaw riled up.. ”Besides, then your Clan wouldn’t have to unfairly beat anyone else up and rob them of their herbs, fresh-kill, and prey-rich hunting grounds like a bunch of bullies!”

(OOC: Guess that’ll never happen then, because after this fight Fern will hold a grudge on Cinder tighter than a dog holds onto a cat in its jaws XD)

Cinderpaw was about to agree with her and then she insulted his Clan. "We are not bullies! Ashstar chose not to give us herbs and she paid for it! We are thriving! Blizzardstar chose to fight us and paid the consequences! Windclan has done its own 'bullying' as have all the other Clans! Ivystar is helping us to thrive, and you can't understand that because you're just a kit!" He leapt on top of the she-cat angrily. His training would not go to waste.

Cinderpaw used Leap and Hold, dealing 6 damage and using 10 stamina. Fernpaw is stunned for 1 turn.

Fernpaw’s green eyes widened in shock, and before she knew it she was pinned underneath the older, stronger, more experienced tom. She shrieked in pain and struggled to shove him off. ”Ow! I was only joking! Let me up! You’re hurting me!”

IC: Cinderpaw hissed. "Maybe you should think about the effects of your 'joking'."

Fernpaw growled with the effort of pulling herself out from underneath the apprentice, tears of hurt pricking in her eyes, though they weren’t caused by just the physical pain in her shoulders. Cinderpaw really hurt her feelings, and she was going to make him pay. She leaped behind him quickly and dug her teeth into his tail, then yanked hard to unbalance him.

Fernpaw used Tail Yank on Cinderpaw, dealing 2 damage and costing 10 stamina.

Cinderpaw is Stunned for one turn.

Cinderpaw yelped. He remembered being taught that tactic... He had to recover quickly.

With a howl of heartbroken rage, the she-cat the pounced on him and raked her hind claws into him underbelly, also delivering a swift strike of her foreclaws to his muzzle.

Fernpaw used Belly Rake, followed by Swift Strike, on Cinderpaw dealing 9 damage and costing 20 stamina.
