Tawny's Merciless Claws Pierce the Unsuspecting Shade

He wanted to go off on his own? Fine, so could she!

Tawnypaw let out a growl of frustration and swiped at the ground with her claws as she stalked through the territory, anger radiating off her pelt and causing it to grow hot. Torrentpaw and her had gotten into yet another fight about him going off on and his own; he ended up winning the debate with her staring in silence. She let him have the win, really; she didn't want to hurt his feelings with a not-so-accidentally snarky remark. Her brother was sensitive, and she didn't want him running off with his tail between his legs because of something she said. All she wanted to do was look out for him; couldn't he understand that she was doing this out of sheer affection? Why was he so stubborn and childish enough not to listen?

The brown, white, and gray apprentice was about to swipe bark right off a tree when movement caught her eye; it was another cat, definitely not from Riverclan. The she-cat immediately dropped into a crouch and stalked into some bushes to avoid being seen, her blue eyes narrowed in agitation. Great, an unsuspecting victim to take her anger out on. Just what she needed. Her claws were itching for a fight; Starclan had happened to send her exactly what she needed. Besides, they were on her territory; the warrior code clearly stated defend her home at all costs. She wasn't in the wrong, right? Tawnypaw unsheathed her claws and waited patiently to make sure they were completely oblivious to her being there.

Shadepaw was hunting around the border of Windclan territory. She scoffed the ground. She'd been bored, and couldn't catch an prey. She lifted her head to sniff the air for prey, but instead of smelling the expected hare or rabbit, she smelled Riverclan. She hissed quietly and narrowed her eyes. She looked around for the intruder, but couldn't find one. She pushed the thought to the back of her mind, brushing it off as just a Riverclan patrol that had just passed through.

If only Shadepaw listened to her first instinct.

Tawnypaw let out a battle cry and raced towards the apprentice at full speed, ramming her own body into the other's and sending her flying to the ground.

Tawnypaw used Run and Tackle, dealing 9 damage (6 + 3 added on a cat not focused on you) and costing 10 stamina.

Shadepaw gasped as she was violently knocked over, being knocked to the ground. She felt as if she couldn't breathe, like all of the air had been taken from her lungs. She panted as she carefully picked herself up from the dirt, shaking herself quickly. She narrowed her eyes at the Riverclan apprentice, her claws kneading the soft soil underneath them. She launched herself at the Riverclanner, knocking her over. She landed on top of her, and she then went in and went for another strike with her paw.

Shadepaw used whirlwind rush and swift strike, together dealing 9 damage and costing 25 stamina

Tawnypaw gasped out in agony, feeling claws stabbing into her flesh and tearing it up. This only filled her with a new sense of vigor. She growled and rolled out of the Windclannner's attacks before springing to her paws. She leaped at the apprentice and shoved her to the ground, digging her claws into her shoulders. "Think twice before crossing into Riverclan territory, moor-runner!"

Tawnypaw used Leap-and-Hold, dealing 6 damage and costing 10 stamina. Shadepaw is pinned for 2 turns.

Shadepaw struggled under the weight of the other apprentice. Why couldn't she push the cat off of her? She scrabbled under the Riverclanner, her pelt getting dirty with dust.

Tawnypaw smirked at the wriggling cat underneath her, unable to escape underneath her claws, "Not so tough now, huh? Gee, if I had known defeating you would be as easy as swallowing a minnow, I would've let you go!" She sneered, lashing her tail.

"Well I wasn't even on your territory fishbreath! Maybe you should learn to control your emotions!" she shouted. Shadepaw was growing weaker she could tell. Her struggles began to grow less powerful. She felt like the pressure put on her by the other apprentice was the weight of the world. She tried pushing The smelly Riverclanner off of her one last time before her vision blurred and she fell limp. She lay on the ground, passed out.

Tawnypaw snarled and was ready to prepare another insult, but had felt the squirming cat go weak underneath her paws. "That'll teach you," She thought proudly, giving her flank a few licks to rid it of dirt and drying blood. The white and brown apprentice bounced on her paws, adrenaline still coursing through her. "Wait until Torrentpaw here's about this! He'll be so impressed, he'll forget we even fought."


The Riverclanner looked from side to side to make sure no was with her fallen opponent, before rolling in mud to hide her scent. From there, she picked up her fallen foe's scruff and dragged it further into Windclan territory, before fleeing back to her own side of the border.
