Battle of the savages

Birchpaw swam through the river with Smokewish behind him. He was going to sunningrocks and he would usually be looking forward to basking in the sun, but they were hunting. He groaned and walked the border, the opposite direction of smokewish. He looked over into the Thunderclan territory and saw an apprentice, not seeing the warrior with her. Birchpaw muttered under his breath and looked around. While he wasn't paying attention he accidentally stepped into thunderclan territory. He quickly backed up, hoping that nobody noticed.

Hazelpaw was on a border patrol with Violetfall. She had been staring off into RiverClan territory, when she suddenly realized that she couldn't see the warrior anymore. Suddenly feeling very small, she backed away from the border, checking quickly to make sure no cat had seen her. But just as she turned her head, she spotted a RiverClan apprentice dance over the border and back again, seeming to realize what he had done. A RiverClanner, on ThunderClan territory? This was intolerable. "Who are you, and what are you doing tresspassing on ThunderClan territory?" she hissed, steeling herself. Where was Violetfall? There was no way she could handle this alone...

Violetfall pricked her ears. She had gone on along the border without Hazelpaw, having expected the apprentice to catch up by this time. But now, she could hear Hazelpaw's unsteady hiss, coming from the Sunningrocks part of the border. The grey tabby whipped around and bounded in the other direction. She emerged from the trees to see Hazelpaw, shaking, but holding her ground, staring down a RiverClan apprentice. "What's wrong?" she breathed softly in Hazelpaw's ear. "Did he do something?" The small brown apprentice shivered. "He crossed over the border," she replied shakily. "Don't worry, Hazelpaw, I'm here," she reassured the apprentice, turning to face the RiverClanner.

Smokewish swam behind the apprentice, her webbed paws catching the water as it flowed steadily onwards. She took a breath and ducked underneath the current, cutting about like a fish. She came up for air and pulled herself up onto the shore, fat droplets rolling from her sleek pelt. She bounded off in the opposite direction along the border. Throwing a glance over her shoulder, the young warrior saw Birchpaw cross into ThunderClan territory. ”Birchpaw!” She mewed quietly, her rushed hiss showing her alarm as the fur bristled along her spine. She was glad to be soaked - he might not notice it. She ran hard towards Birchpaw, herding him away from their enemies territory. Even though she was afraid some cats had seen, she pushed against the apprentice’s pelt, her back towards ThunderClan. She felt uncomfortable, exposing her back like this, where anyone could be caught off guard, but the apprentice’s mistakes had to be fixed quickly as she gently nudged him back into RiverClan territory. She turned to face the border again when two voices could be heard, a warrior and an apprentice, and they stunk of ThunderClan. She stood, perhaps a little too defensively, in front of Birchpaw. She would wait for him to apologise, as she was certain it was a mistake.

Birchpaw stared wide-eyed at the warriors. "S-sorry I didn't mean to" Birchpaw stuttered. He hadn't realized he'd wandered into Thunderclan territory. Or how easy it is to get into trouble. Birchpaw had always been cowardly due his older brother. He shrank a bit behind Smokewish, but changed his mind and stood beside her. He stood as tall as he could. It looked like they might be getting into a fight. Birchpaw instantly felt worried. Thought flooded his mind about loosing. He turned arond and saw the river and realized he could use it as a weapon.

Violetfall faced the RiverClanners. "You know it's not allowed to cross the border," she said firmly. "It has never been allowed, and I can't allow this to go unpunished." The warrior knew that she couldn't simply let this incident slip. If she let this be an exception, it could happen again, and she couldn't risk that. The RiverClanners were still standing just on their side of the border, so she leaped onto the other Warrior, grabbing her scruff in her teeth and planting her paws on her shoulders.


Violetfall used Leap-and-Hold on Smokewish, dealing 9 damage and costing 10 stamina. Smokewish is stunned for 1 turn.

Hazelpaw watched as Violetfall attacked the RiverClan warrior. She shifted nervously on her paws, briefly contemplating running away from the fight, but she knew that if she left the RiverClan apprentice then the grey tabby warrior would lose to the RiverClanners. Hazelpaw dashed at the apprentice, hitting him full force and knocking him to the ground.


Hazelpaw used Run-and-Tackle on Birchpaw, dealing 6 damage and costing 10 stamina. +3 damage as Birchpaw is not focused on Hazelpaw.

Smokewish was taken by surprise when the warrior jumped onto her, forcing her to the ground. The young warrior let out a tiny hiss of alarm, and began to twist and thrash and shake in an attempt to free herself. Her unsheathed claws scored across the earth as she struggled, still trying to comprehend what had just happened. She had crossed onto RiverClan territory. Anything was fair game now.

Smokewish is no longer stunned.

Birchpaw gasped as he was violently knocked over, being pushed to the ground. He felt as if he couldn't breathe, like all of the air had been taken from his lungs. He panted as he carefully picked himself up from the dirt, shaking himself quickly before backing close to the river. He jumped in and hid himself do that Hazlepaw couldn't see him. When she was close enough, Birchpaw darted out of the water and pulled her head underneath.

Violetfall scrambled back as the grey she-cat twisted out of her grasp. She dropped quickly to her paws, using her small size to slide under her opponent and rake her claws over her unprotected belly before regaining her footing to face the RiverClan warrior.

Smokewish got to her paws, panting, only to have claws slice down her exposed belly. She let out a yelp of pain and crouched down low, considering what her next attack should be. She reared up onto her hind legs and slashed wildly at Violetfall with her front claws, hissing in rage.

Birchpaw lept out of the river and stood behind Hazelpaw. She saw how she was trying to recover from the river, and he dicided to take an advantage of that. While she was recovering Birchpaw slid underneath of her and clawed at her belly, claws unsheathed.

Violetfall suppressed a yowl as claws scored her pelt. She glanced briefly at Hazelpaw, who surprisingly enough seemed to be holding her own. She turned her full attention back to the RiverClan warrior who was attempting to regain her footing. Taking advantage of her opponent's momentary unsteadiness, she reared up on her back legs and struck the RiverClanner with her claws as many times as she could. Just like the other she-cat, she came down slightly off-balance, claws dripping with blood.

Hazelpaw ducked away from the apprentice's sharp claws. Getting quickly to her paws, she lashed out at him, catching his shoulder with her claws. Trying her best to ignore her instinct to run away, she took a defensive stance.

As Smokewish can down onto all fours, she was struck by another flurry of claws by this ThunderClan warrior. She had to resist the urge to yowl out loud in pain as they sliced at her face, opening several new wounds. Hissing through her teeth, she was forced to wait until the other warrior dropped from her hind legs. As soon as that happened, Smokewish slid underneath her, using the same trick she had been struck with. Smokewish slipped underneath her, twisting to rake her claws viciously across her exposed belly.

Birchpaw felt the sting of claws dig into his shoulder. Birchpaw felt the crimson colored blood leak from his pelt. He narrowed his eyes again at the cat, quickly think of what attack to use. With no time to waste, he darted behind her and tugged at her tail.

Violetfall flinched as drops of blood sprinkled the ground. "Maybe this will teach you to keep a better eye on your apprentice," she hissed, claws scraping the ground as she prepared for her next move. She lashed out with her paw, raking her claws across the RiverClanner's eye. She winced - she could only imagine the damage she had done, and she hadn't meant to inflict so much pain, but what was done was done, she couldn't back down now.
