A Spotty Commotion 3[OPEN]

Spotfur slowly, grievingly padded into camp. He stood at the center. "Wolfsong is gone!" He called out, trying to stay calm. His voice wavered. He couldn't cry now. Tears welled up in his eyes anyway. Wolfsong had been his first friend. He still had Heronflight, Nutfur, Smokewish, and his kits, but Wolfsong had been special. He leaned against Heronflight in shock and grief. His life was just one long nightmare.

Heronflight rushed with him, panting. "An eagle took him away!" he yowled.

Duskpaw was doing apprentice duties around camp when she saw Spotfur and Heronflight rush into camp. Wolfsong was gone?! Her mentor wasn't with her anymore? Her blue-green eyes widened and her usually happy face fell. She looked away. What if she never became a warrior due to her lack of mentor?

Smokewish’s ears perked up, swivelling towards the commotion in the center of camp. Another disaster. At this point, she was resigned to it. The young warrior took a deep breath to steel herself before walking slowly towards the group of cats. She saw Spotfur, and her heart leaped in panic. Was he hurt? No, he seemed unharmed, but... shaken. Upset. She rushed towards him, and in an instant was at his side, pressing into his pelt comfortingly, twining her tail with his.

”Wolfsong is gone!” That was what he had cried. Smokewish didn’t know Wolfsong all that well, but he was her mate’s friend. Gently, the warrior began to groom Spotfur, licking in between his ears, trying to purr. All that came out was a cracked, half-hearted little sound, because she had no clue how to make him feel any better.

The tall tom was distracted from his chat with a few clanmates when a familiar scream interrupted the peace of the camp. Jaystream turned his eyes toward Spotfur who came running with his friend, Heronflight, announcing that Wolfsong was taken away by an eagle. The deputy ran to them and when he caught the attention of the two toms, he glanced at them concerned. "W-What? What happened exactly? How did this... happen?" He asked. Although he knew that the two warriors were probably in pain and sorrow, there was a chance of Wolfsong being alive considering that he was a full-grown cat and a warrior. However, he also knew that that was an overly-optimistic look to this... No many cats survived an attack like from an eagle.

Spotfur took a deep breath, comforted slightly by his mate. "We were out hunting and then I heard a screech. I saw the eagle and tried to warn them. It swooped down so fast... I tried to knock Wolfsong out of the way but the eagle made it first. It carried him off above the tree line and out of sight behind the Twolegplace. We followed it to the end of the territory. It's... unlikely he's alive." He hung his head, feeling again that this was all his fault.
